I was wondering how scheduling works, like do you know only a week at a time or more, at Zoombezi Bay we knew anywhere from 2 weeks to a month at a time.

Also, I hear from employees last year that they got platnium passes when they were hired, is this true or should I go ahead and buy my pass. Thanks!

You do not get a platnium pass, but your i.d. works as a ticket kinda. When you enter the park, they scan it. Do not waste your money on a pass if you are going to work here. As far as scheduling goes, it changes a few times a week sometimes, so you wont know your schedule until probably the fri or sat before, sometimes earlier.

Your I.D. works at ALL Cedar Fair parks. So again, a Platinum Pass is not needed unless you plain on going to parks before you are hired.

Well I had a friend who got into Kings Island opening weekend with his contract (he printed it all out and took it with him) and got in like he was already an employee, but I wouldn't count on that happening. If you're planning on going at least 3 times to Cedar Point or another park after your employment period is up, then I would say go ahead and get it. In fact, get the platinum pass. I had a platinum pass last year, and I'm really glad I had it. My friends and I went to KI and Michigan's Adventure during the summer, and we got free parking as a result of the platinum pass. Of course, I also spent two days at Kings Island prior to going to CP for the summer, and then went for a total of 5 days during Halloweekends (all of which were planned). It all depends on what you plan on doing.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

He printed out his contract? That would be nice if it worked, because I was planning on going to Kings Island opening day for the opening of Diamondback, of course, and the 30th anniversary of The Beast!!!!

Weeks run Monday-Sunday and scheduling is usually done one week at a time. I'm sure it varies from location to location, but at Ripcord we generally had our schedule for the following week by Thursday or Friday of the current week. As long as you requested a day off before the TL/ATL began making the schedule I never knew of anyone who didn't get a requested day off at my ride.

And you don't get a "platinum pass" but your employee ID gets you into CP, Soak City, and all the other Cedar Fair parks. Only difference is you don't (or at least aren't supposed to) get free parking at other parks, and you don't get the pass holder perks like discounts and special ride times. But employees have a ride night every Monday night, so you get plenty of ERT.

Edit: I didn't see there was a third page before posting this. Doh.

The only time your not given your day off is if we need you, like in the situation of a really busy day such as July 4th, everyone is working. Unless you have that day contracted off which I doubt. Usually we ask who needs what days off, but it's never guarnteed. So make sure your checking your schedule everyday, because like mentioned before it will change due to staffing. Just note, for the first weeks of working there you WILL be working O-Cs. (Open-Close)

As for the IDs, it doesn't count to Parking, so you of course have to pay that. However, never wear your ID on your street clothes, the only time you may is at work with your uniform on. Many people when they first get their ID will wear it around in street clothes and go places, think there high and mighty. Your ID, as weird as it sounds, is somewhat "sacred", you lose it is $15.00 to get a new one. Your ID gets you a lot of discounted items around Sandusky as well. I've seens "lifers" literally go up to newbies and rip the ID off their clothes. When your in the park not working, you need to act like a guest which means, just cause you got in free and didn't have to pay for parking doesn't mean you can line jump, and think your better than any other guest at Cedar Point.

^ Good Point Tony, that is one of the biggest pet peeves of mine, seeing people wearing their Id in the park, and flashing it around everywhere.

It's hit-or-miss with parking with your ID. We got it for free at King's Island last year when I went.

Exactly, which is why I said you aren't supposed to get free parking at other parks, but getting away with it isn't unheard of if you've got a traffic employee who doesn't know what's going on.

Well me and MacKenzie are going to Kings Island opening day, and I will most likely go another time before Cedar Point is open, so im gonna buy my pass so I can be guaranteed free parking and pass holder perks at Kings Island. Thanks!

That is an extreme waste of $150. I think that you should ask whoever interviews you. I wouldn't order it just yet.

Well im not ordering it yet, I was already planning on asking them first.

I'm not sure of the price difference, but if you only plan on visiting Kings Island before/after your employment, you may want to consider just getting a regular KI season pass. If, however, you won't be working at Cedar Point from May-November, it may be worth it to get a Cedar Fair pass if you plan on traveling to other parks during your employment (free parking), as well as if you plan on visiting Cedar Point/Kings Island (or other CF) after your employment ends. Like I said, for me it wasn't a waste last year because of how often I went before and after my employment. But your milage may vary.

Plus, wear something over your uniform and park on parking ban days :)

But what about the sticker? No, that doesn't work. A flyer conveniently placed underneath your wipers and over the sticker (with clear packaging tape for good measure) is a much better idea. :)

^But then you have to pay $10 to park. I would just rather take the bus.
