Signs pointing towards Boardwalk?

Ok, there is a lot of buzz going around now that the boardwalk project may materialize. Just read over at Screamscape (the more trusted source) that signs are pointing towards this project. They indicated that the Coral Courtyard and the Aquatic Stadium are gone (though I DID first hear this from Jeff, they just seem to be adding more validity) I was recalling that it was about this time last year, the buzz was flying about a major record-breaking coaster coming for 2000! Heck, the name was even mentioned by this time!

If the boardwalk materializes, what will happen to Ocean Motion?

Let's just say, It sunk!!!!
This cracks me up! Every single time someone posts something that they heard on screamscape, Jeff comes back with the previous comment. When are you people gonna learn! We ain't dealin' wit no dummy!:)

Now the information on Screamscape say that the Coral Courtyard is going away, but Jeff, I thought I head you say the building housing the Convention Center is going away too? Doesn't it have historical designation?

"Doesn't it have historical designation?"

Since when has that mattered?

Yeah... history doesn't seem to be much of a consideration.

Here's what I know for sure: Oceana and the Aquarium will go for sure. Coral Courtyard might very well go as well. Last year there were rumors of Schwabinchen and Ocean Motion being moved, but I didn't make the connection until recently.

Bottom line, there are enough different rumors that all point to clearing out that entire midway to suspect something big will happen there.

What exactly is the Coral Courtyard? What all does it include?
I think that Ocean Motion would fit in perfect on a boardwalk type deal, so why move it? Or do you think that want it to be "started from scratch" like Camp Snoopy was?

Coral Courtyard is the catered events place between the Convention Center (old Grand Pavillion) and the beach. In other words, it is the area with the white tent coverings to the left of Ocean Motion.
Yesterday I noticed some spray paint near the Disaster Transport entrance. It went directly toward the building. It was in your standard dash, space, dash, space, dash, space pattern. I don't know if it has any revelance...
I think it's great that historical significance doesn't matter when building an all-new area with an old-time flavor. That's true America, my friends!

PS I highly recommend a book called "Travels with a Salmon" by Umberto Eco. It has a marvelous chapter on Disneyland.

CP fan since 68.
Personally, I love Ocean Motion... so they better not get rid of it.

Also, I agree with RPerz on the fact that Ocean Motion would be great at "the Boardwalk". The Santa Montica pier in CA has a Ocean Motion ride (called the Sea Dragon) that looks nice and is really cool being next to the ocean like that.

Anyway... I think the Boardwalk would rule...

CP the best... and if you wanna argue that I'll take you down...
I think it should be fun to see what they do to the "boardwalk" section of the park. I think it will be great if they clear it up so you can see more of the beach and lake.

What's the deal with this rumor that they are moving Disaster Transport? Wouldn't that be more of a Disaster if they tried to move it? Screamscape said something about moving it outdoors near Mean Streak. (Not a terribly bad idea, maybe they could "beaf" it up a little).

Has anyone noticed the new WOODEN benches around the trees near the relocated Giant Wheel? It appears very remenicent of the '20's era when everything was made of wood...

Pointfan-when i read screamscape it said not to believe that wild rumor on thrillride about moving DT over to MS.

Also notice that CP seems to be in a pattern of building a major thrill ride every other year. The years between thrill rides have been resorts/other attractions years, which would make 2001 the logical year for the Boardwalk project.
