Specific housing question

So I've read up on all the housing, and what I've gathered is that
-Everyone loves commons (dorms) because they have AC and just 2-3 other roommates
-They hate commons apartments because the bathrooms are filthy and too many people living together
-Cedars and gold are practically prisons.
-Bayside fills up at the beginning of April so don't even get your hopes up.
So here is the thing, I live in a dorm room all year round, I really miss having a fridge and stove. I have a mini-fridge, but it is 4.5 cubic ft and quite the bulky thing. Should I risk commons apt, or try to move in to bayside if I can, or just tough it out in commons (dorm)?

Commons, in my mind, is the way to go. AC plays a key role during the summer.

Well, at band camp in the end of July (In Columbus) we didn't get AC, we found that a box fan in the window usually did the trick. It works best if there are two windows, then you can get a loop of air going.
But I don't know if they let you use box fans.

I highly wouldn't suggest living in Common's Apartments. I lived there during June/July of my first season, and it was miserable. Even with like three-four fans on our room, it still was like a sauna. I'd say just go with a commons dorm, it really isn't that bad and you don't spend all that much time in it.

I agree. Common's Apartment bathrooms are just as nasty if not worse than the dorms but I guess it depends on who you room with. Regardless of where you choose to live I have 2 words of advice though..."shower shoes"

Can someone please tell me the list of the housing with the price?

Thank you! What was the hourly wage in 2012?

I'm assuming Bayside is the best? I would like something with A/C

From what I remember, your choice in housing depends on many factors. Your choice of job at the park may place you automatically in Bayside, for example, security. Your preference of space, Commons dorms are pretty small as are the apartments. Your tolerance of random hook ups going on in your small room...that would be Commons. Whether you wish to walk to work, or wait for the bus (which the ride back includes long lines and arguments). Your tolerance for noxious odors: when I was there I walked into the male only Commons building and the smell just about floored me. Remember, not everyone washes, and with the A/C going, no one opens windows for fresh air...that is a lot of rank smell staying put. Don't be too fooled by the lure of A/C, depending on your job, you may be in the park all day working and not enjoying the A/C. Off point housing, however, has easier access to the Rec Center, employee shuttles to malls, your car, and the bars. On point you have easier access to your room if you want to relax during a break or shifts.

That is just a few. Basically, think of what you intend to do while working. What amenities you value more than others.

Could you tell me which places are on/off point and how many roommates each location has?

Also, I thought I heard that either gold or cedars dorms were torn down, is that true?

Not a dumb question, but a simple answer; nope - no pets.

I can promise you, and this is from experience, Bayside is way worse than commons dorms. You'll be much happier in the dorm room!

Aww I loved Bayside! But it really is a preference thing. Being in rides, I worked a lot in the summers, so I really wasn't at my place but to sleep or watch some TV. I always ate with the crew, in the park, or at the Commons store.

Ditto! My first season I started in Commons Apartments, because they had the stove and such. But I never actually used the kitchen because I was out with my crew or friends most nights. I had a horrible time in the apartments, there were so many people in a small area. I've never lived in Bayside, but I had visited and i hated it, the halls smelled gross and it was very stale. I moved to the 1500's and loved it.

1500's Are the way to go A/C bigger rooms and depending what floor you are on cleaner bathrooms

1500's seemed so dirty to me because I was on the first floor and the bathroom closest to my room didn't open until mid June and closed in late September/early October, so I had to walk all the way to the other side of the building to shower, and that bathroom wasn't the cleanest at all.
