The Mysterious, possible footers

Yeah, but why the huge footers for such a small ride?

A transportation ride would be awesome. I've been hoping that they would use the old sky ride. I have not seen a skyride like that one in operation. It seems to be a lower ride capacity than the one up front. With that said, I doubt it would be a good ride to put as a cross island ride.

Just to toss out another idea. What if it's not a ride. Something like a bridge to the island. Some type of tower.

About a year ago I thought someone mentioned something about island development. A way to cross from the MF area to the Maggie area.

I must go now and seek out the lemon chill dude for guidance on this matter. May the twist be with you.

Get with it or die in the process.....

What's the saying...if you can't beat them, join them? Let me play devil's advocate here, if nothing else to stir up the pot.

What about moving Choas and Troika to the Peanuts Playground and then using the islands (I know someone mentioned this somewhere in the thread). Anyway, just something to stir things up. We will find out soon enough, no sense in hurrying it up!

My guess is a flat ride of some kind. I don't believe a coaster in coming in 2003, mainly cause that's not "Cedar Point style". I also don't subscribe to the "Cedar Point is getting a coaster in 2003, cause Wicked was a filler" theory either...

Back when I worked at the Point there was some talk in P&D about a restaurant on the MF island. Now, if they are going to put a restaurant there it would seem to me they would need a way to get over there.

None of that really addresses those footers though. The pics look like there is conduit, etc. coming out of the footers. Anybody get a close pic with a zoom? I might be able to take a better guess if I could see more detail.

Don't expect a huge coaster or anything like that. It will probably be a small ride (could be tall, could be a flat ride). It is also possible that it could be another sky ride that goes from there to somewhere in Frontier Town.

I don't think it is a coaster becuase...

1.) The construction is in an area with a fence around it which must mean they are doing a lot of work in that area only.

2.) If it was a coaster, there wouldn't be just 3 footers in a triangle with a fence around it... you would see them in a line and more wide-spread.

That's just my opinion.

Woah, woah, woah...pics you say??? Who has pics??? I must see!

During one of my many conversations with Mr. Jasper yesterday.. he said... and I quote..

"I can confim that behind that wall is a construction site."

So that's about it...

Just an idea...

Xcelerator at Knotts may be a prototype, then CP builds bigger and faster.

I'm thinkin' the same thing Megladon!

I hate to get my hopes up but the pics that NoRules2k compares have an awful lot of similarities! I was surprised that the fenced-off area is so large.

Although I would love it if this were the beginnings of an Xcelerator-like coaster, I would also crack up if CP was just putting out those 2 footers to mess with us all - while intending all along to put in a restaurant. I mean, come on - how difficult/costly would it be for them to have that little bit of fun at our expense!!

Holy Crap! I thought the area with the footers was a small compact space. That area is huge! That sure doesn't look like they would use all taht space on a flat ride.

Hmmm I really don't mean for this to sound rude, but how can you guys compare a picture of two footers to that mass of construction? :) I don't know anything about rollercoaster construction but don't all footers pretty much look the same?

Ok.. so.. let's see.. that's a much bigger area than I envisioned in my head.

What about a tree-house type restaurant? hrm... maybe not

ok, I'm stumped.. I'm gonna wait 2 weeks and start reading speculation on this again.

Heh, well they had fun at our expense with the whole webcam thing last year right before the WT announcement... anyone remember the "Twister Cam" that changed to the "Fury Cam" that changed to the "Gale Cam" that changed to the "Vektron Cam"? But building footers is more costly than you would think...

As for the similarities of the footers, didn't someone say earlier that this is how all the Intamin footers look? (like with WT) I would say that IF (and that is a strong if) it was a coaster or other major ride, there's a good chance it would be Intamin. Although something I just noticed, there are 12 bolts for the footers at CP, and 4-8 for most Intamin coasters. Hmmm... we are crazy...
