Trains have arrived!

A good coaster company or park, should read the complaints on forums. I have a friend for example, whos job is to Troll around the internet car forums to find common complaints and then documents them. Yes, reporting to park managment would be a little more direct, but I am sure that someone from CP, or any of the coaster makers troll around here to get some minor or major feedback.

its the internet, its the best way to compile info.

I never said they didn't read the forums. The question is, does it constitute reason for a change?

The vast, vast, vast majority of people I have been on rides with never mention complaints posted on here.

Cedar Point probably does read these forums. I know Carowinds staff reads their forum. So I would imagine the same would be for most parks.

@Shawn: I have no idea. I've actually never been to Hershey since they built SkyRush.

^ That's cool Kevin. I just wish one of these websites would give info of whats going on with Skyrush. I know it won't be this one since it's a Cedar Point fan forum. By the way, I did want to ask, is that red light on the trains going to stay on by it's own battery or by controls?

Having been to events all over the country and a couple trips around the world, I have heard my share of complaints about rides. Yes, you will hear someone complain about almost any ride for any reason. No, that's not a reason to make a change. But, I attended the ACE event, "Rush to the Sky" last year. I have never heard such a resounding consensus of how painful a ride was. In this case, the number of people who weren't complaining about equaled the low number of people who usually complain about any other ride. Some of the most intense airtime coasters I can think of (in no particular order) would be El Toro, Texas Giant, Bizzaro/Superman, and Expedition Geforce. Personally, I have issues with the restraints on these 4 coasters. But they are a joy compared to Sky Rush. Aside from myself, I know a lot people who have ridden all 4 of these coasters and absolutely love them and have no problem with their restraints. None of them that I can think of liked the restraints on Sky Rush. That to me says, there is something wrong.

Agreed 100% @Jason. Although Skyrush was pretty intense those restraints were pretty unbearable however I didn't allow it to take away from the experience of the ride. I know Skyrush wont be available for spring time in the park so hopefully this means they have gone back to the drawing board for those restraints and modified the station because that in itself is a pure joke.

Yeah, it's pretty clear that whoever designed the Skyrush station needs to go back to architectural school!

And whoever chose the paint job for the track/supports clearly needed to do a little more shopping....:P

I actually like Skyrush's colors. It stands out and isn't really like any other coaster. It's cool, IMO.

Awesome. Wonder when it will be added onto the track.

Hmmm, I thought the trains' steel centers were supposed to be painted gold.....they look tan to me. Maybe they are going to paint them when they all arrive in the cp warehouse?

That's just the frame, they will eventually put gold fiberglass shells on them.

Are these trains like Raptor where you walk on, and the floor drops away, or like Wicked Twister and Windseeker where you have to jump up into the seat? I'm short and can manage Windseeker, but can't get up into Wicked Twister now.

Chris

I believe it will not have the floor drop away.

The floors do not drop on wing coasters. But they're not as high up off the floor as Wicked Twister. I believe WT's floor to seat distance is so high because of the fact that you whip through the station at high speeds where as you don't on Gatekeeper (or any other wing coaster).

This is so true. And taking that a little further, that same majority (the ones some refer to affectionately as the general public) at least for the most part, don't really complain about ANYTHING.

I made it my business to watch and listen very closely every time I went to HP last year (which was a lot), and the only thing I ever saw and heard when people were coming off Skyrush, were smiles and laughter.

This whole business with the restraints is much to do about nothing as far as I'm concerned. I rode it several times and never once thought that it was something that needed changed or fixed. Then again, I'm not someone who whines and belly aches over small potatoes, which to the contrary, seems pretty apparent that that's all the so-called coaster buffs and enthusiasts want to do.

I was super before Super Stew was cool !

^ +1

I have to agree with a lot said about Skyrush. The intensity of the ride was amazing. Rode it 5 times in a row and after the 5th time my upper thighs were pretty sore. I do not see the restarints to be a much of a problem as many because they gave you a great feedom of movement in the seat that you do not get in many other rides. The station though was a traffic nightmare loading and unloading. But, with that said, I would and will go again and ride it again and love it again!!!

Sorry for the mess. Signature under construction.
