Trains have arrived!

... that same majority (the ones some refer to affectionately as the general public) at least for the most part, don't really complain about ANYTHING.

I guess you have not ridden Mean Streak. Take a listen to what the GP screams at the end of that ride:)

The screams of the public have subsided over the past couple of years as Cedar Point has done extensive work to the ride.

Not so much in my experience. Even last year I felt like I had to put my fingers in my kid's ears as they were hearing the f bombs at the brakes coming into the station.

I'm surprised nobody posted this. http://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Choo-Choo

The extensive work put into Mean Streak has proven only one thing; that no amount of work will ever help that ride.

But let's not get off topic. :)

The trains look wonderful.

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

So each train will have a different 'shade' of gold I'm guessing? Should be very nice looking.

That's not true. They could make that ride a winner with the New Texas Giant treatment.

There are quite a few rides I can think of I've heard the general public complain of. Mean Streak, Son of Beast, and various SLCs with the old train design immediately come to mind.

I've actually heard boos on the "how was your ride" before on some rides. (Usually Son of Beast)

Alright guys lets not get off topic. I personally can't wait to see these trains in action.

Top 5 Coasters #1 Millennium Force #2 Intimidator (Carowinds) #3 Top Thrill Dragster #4 The Beast #5 X2

Coasters I want to ride: #1 El Toro #2 Leviathan #3 The Voyager #4 I305 #5 Behemoth

Wonder what the dummies look like.

Also wonder if the train can run without any people.

I can't see why not. Actually, I think part of testing involves running empty trains.

Trains can defiantly run empty. However most testing will involve water dummies.

I'm sure the test dummies will look something like this as pictured from The Swarm

I know they like to wear the colors scarlet and gray, should be easy to spot! ;)

I seem to remember hearing about dummies being used on Maverick's testing to show an accurate indication of the g forces placed on the human body.

Most of the time, dummies are used to provide weight in certain weather conditions. If it's cold and windy, which usually is the case before the season starts, the metal contracts and they'll need to add weight to the trains in order to cycle. This was talked about on the Discovery Channel special that was shot at the park back in 2001.

Those trains sure look sharp from the pictures that I seen. I had rode the wild eagle 10 times last year at Dollywood. The seats & the retrainsts are comfortable. No head banging like on maverick or on raptor at the last turn just before the loading station.

Is there a topic/site with an updated list of all the TV specials that were shot at the park. That would be awesome resource.

Two of the tree trains are on-site at this point. Here are some photos from today's tour:

I didn't realize til today that his big 'ol forked tongue would be sticking out like that...

Interesting to note that the leg guards have been slightly re-designed. Compare the leg guards on Swarm and GateKeeper:

The GateKeeper leg guards won't curve nearly as far in front of the leg as the ones on Swarm. Gives hope to the possibility that B&M also made some modifications to the vests that some complain about tightening too much during the ride.
