Travel Channel Coaster Showtimes - March

Gomez's avatar

A short segment on Wicked Twister and Gemini and that's it. A lot of Dorney Park things and Six Flags Great Adventure. I wasn't watching the whole thing, but I'm pretty sure they showed Xcelerator too.

The shows all had girls giving very bad descriptions of the rides.

Yeah, Xcelerator was in it. There was also footage of the hydraulic motor in action, which was cool. *** Edited 3/19/2005 1:20:45 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Both of them were pretty bad. I had seen the 8pm one before, and it was alright, but its like they give the people a heavy does of amphetimines before they put them on camera. Or maybe they all took a ride on sky-rides before going to do the camera shoots.

Is it just me or do the Travel Channel shows seem a lot less professional than the Discovery Channel. It just seems like they find really odd people to ride the rides and don't explain the ride that well.

I can not speak for other parks, but I know Cedar Point picks the people that they want to be on Travel or Discovery Channel to ride the ride for the show. I would guess this might be the same for the other parks.

I dont put much stock in a show thats has mind eraser on it as one of the best.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

REMINDER: The new coaster show is starting right now on the Travel Channel!!! Anyone that misses it can catch it again at 2 AM.

CAN WE "GET TO THE PO!NT" ALREADY?!?!?!

They made a comment that when they put Magnum in back 12 years ago, it was the tallest, thats telling you that the footage is old, when magnum is a lot older than 12. Dragster was not talked anywhere in the time they talked about the park either. Oh well.

That was from Theme Park Road Trip, it aired in June 2003. Though they showed TTD being built and the animation.

Did anyone notice they spelled Millennium wrong, (millenium)? And when was the last time you went on Magnum XL.

I thought that was pretty dumb how the Travel Channel renamed it the "Magnum XL" I didnt see any footage of Dragster!! Magic Mountain had 4 of the coolest coasters and claimed to have the most coasters in the world.

Megan and Jessica at Geauga Lake riding "The Dominator" just made the whole show worth watching!! :) :)

In the station when they were getting into Dominator, you could see the batman logo in the background, im not positive if I saw it, but I saw something that sure looked like it, meaning the footage is old.

Yeah, sorry about that. :P
I really try be careful when I'm typing. I guess I just looked over it.
(back on topic)

I can't believe they didn't show Dragster!! You could see the poster of the train designed like a rocket taking off with the riders wearing space helmets in the background. I was hoping it would be saved for last but....oh well. *** Edited 3/19/2005 1:19:24 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

There was a "Batman" logo in the backround. And did anyone notice the TTD poster in the backround during the interview of Brian but not once was the ride mentioned or shown.

GIT-R-DONE

Did this show already air? Because I missed it last night, it's cool though if I did because I have the DVD of Cedar Point. The Rollercoasters of Cedar Point to be exact.

Not that this is bad or anything... But every show you have that one ACE dude, Dave Escalante, or something like that on. It looks like he is the president of ACE when really its Carole Sanderson. I just find it weird they use him every show.

This show was taped before Cedar Fair bought Six Flags: Worlds of Adventure. So Dominator was called Batman: Knight Flight. Now that CF has purchased Geauga Lake, it's been named Dominator.

Even though the show did not have any footage of Dragster, there was a 2003 calendar to promote Dragster in the back round while B.E. was being interviewed, as stated by RaptorFan, but B.E. also mentioned that parks were breaking new heights by going 200, 300, and 400 feet with rides. Dragster was not mentioned, but was referenced to.

Damn!!, I missed it at 6.

I was going to watch the 2 am showing, but for some reason the travel channel turns into infomurcials(sp) at 1 am.

Like I posted above, the show was just a shortened version of another show. I have the original on tape and it shows TTD under construction and B.E. talks you through the animation of the ride. It wasn't anything special.
