Two New Rides Possibly being Built?

Has anyone considered that two new rides are being constructed on the WWL site? They could be building a new coaster and an upgraded water flume ride simultaneously. There are a large amount of footers being built and some of the WWL footers are still there. It is a large site that could have two rides intertwined with eachother.

eh. probably not.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility.

With the aquistion of the Paramount Parks that they just spent so many Billions of Dollars on, I think Cedar Point is going to take it easy what they spend their money on, especially after Project 2007 is done.

It only looked like 1 ride being made to me...it probably looked like 2 because of the inversions its going to make...

There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force

its a possibility, but probably not.

MF.. 47................Dragster..24
WT..31
Maverick. one amazing ride! first person from the SC gates to ride on its opening day! besides red cross
Maverick rides = 18

Most likely not......CP is building a coaster for 2007,but I don't think we'll see another ride until at least 2009. I predict a coaster in 10'.

Maverick perhaps? I wanna RIDE ON.

^CP has very little trends when it comes to building new rides. This is our third new ride in 3 years.

That said, CP wouldn't be as stupid as SFMM in 2001.

I dont believe its two rides either, however do realize that this ride has probably been in the works for a few years now as most coasters take a few years of planning and manufacturing before you even see any footers being poured. The Paramount parks went up for sale at the end of last year so i dont think that the acquisition of Paramount had any impact on this coaster since it was likely already finalized.

Until they announce what's being built/the plans, everything is a possibility.

I don't think any acquisition CF does will put a hold on what CP does.

I would like to see a Huss top spin put in as well.

I actually ran across this while randomly browsing through Pointbuzz a little while ago. From the interview with Dick Kinzel...

CB: How many years out do you plan for capital expenditures?

DK: We’re usually on about a rolling three-year growth period, with a fourth year for a financial growth plan. Right now we know what we’re going to do in our parks in 2001, of course and 2002. 2003 is subject to industry changes and changes in what people’s needs and wants are. We’re always at least two years ahead of the curve.

So i think that lays to rest any claim that the acquisition of Paramount has any impact on this coaster whatsoever.

Oh an by the way, im starting to believe the more i see that except for running over it, this coaster wont involve water. Sorry Mr. Scott, I truly am. I hope you are right, but im not going to count on it. *** Edited 7/8/2006 1:38:49 AM UTC by Steve4Hockey***

Hey, I'm new but I really dont think it will involve two new rides and especially a log flume because im pretty sure in one of the photos there removing the WWL footers.

God i wish they would get a press reles out already...grrrrrr...but i think only 1...mabye one of those half flume half coasters...hummmm....going 150 mph through water...quiet a splash...lol...

MF - mid July
WT - November 21
TTD - January 9
maXair - December 1
Skyhawk - October 31 (day after closing day)
Project 2007 - End of August

CP doesn't show much of a trend when they announce things.

Unless you can pull a Dan-Brown-inspired trick and find some kind of fanciful code hidden within the random announcements. In my estimation, the next announcement comes mid-September. :)

2001: Gemini ATL

The real question is. What will go in when DD is sold or just torn down? We all know they have something planned for that area just not this year.
