What I find interesting is the WWL footers still scattered about the site. ..? ..?

Not for long, apparently.

Yeah, I was looking at that, but carefully cutting it out, rather then ripping or hammering it.. ?? things that make me go .. huhh?? (well..MANY things in life make me go huhh still!)

And they keep on pouring footers... when will it end? Im thinking that there will be more to this coaster than previously believed, especially considering how the bulk of the footers now being poured are in the 'middle' of the site that was previously empty... and no, I don't think they are adding a mountain or any disney-seque themeing as that just isn't how Cedar Point does things... and no water other than a curved dive /rise over the swan boats pond... sorry Mr. Scott :-P We may get some themed buildings on site though to go with the Wild West / Americana theme (jail, general store, barn, etc...) but who knows... we still have a good month and a half or more until the late August announcement so until then it could be anything! (other than a 500-footer, aquatrax, B&M____,)

Not seeing what you mean? Are you talking about the trench? There have been several trenches dug to pour footers, and have since been backfilled.

Water wont be involved with this ride. ;)

Ahh.....I see it what your talking about. Still doubt it IMO.

The rectangular bases of those footers vary in depth, and seem to follow a grade that you'd see at the bottom of a pond.

^ I wish. The picture that djDaemon posted does look like water will be involved. Half of the footer looks like it will be underwater and the other half above it.

looks can be deceiving. And even IF the footer is underwater, there is still a piece of support that needs to be attached to it, and then on top of that the track.

Water will be involved with this ride. I still believe this.

Though, I may be wrong.

I see how the pad footers vary in depth, but that could just mean that it's on top of something such as more concrete or rock.

... or back-filled with dirt.

That is possible, but the proximity of the footers makes it pretty unlikely. If there is some variation in the base soil such as a rock or concrete, they'd remove it most likely.

and back fill it with all those dump trucks full of dirt.
