Vertigo single tower collapse

A portion of one of Cedar Point's newest rides, fell to the ground Monday afternoon. Park officials say one of the Vertigo's 265 foot support towers broke about 65 feet above the ground. Cedar Point says the ride launches people almost 300 feet into the air at speeds of nearly 50 miles an hour. The park says no one was hurt and there was minimal damage to the area surrounding the ride. Officials say they're still not sure what caused that portion of the ride to fall.

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY HERE AT CEDAR POINT...AMERICA'S ROCKIN ROLLER COAST. *CLEAR*
Clears up one thing: It was Vertigo, Not Wicked Twister. Is that good or bad? Opinions? I think they'll be able to get this thing back up and ready soon.
Guess will have to talk to Stan Checketts about this one.

i guess so... it has to be laying somewhere...lol
Wait, a second, it doesn't say that 65 broke off, it says it broke as 65 feet...which means MFRULES is right, 200 feet broke off. This sure isn't in their funding...How much did Vertigo cost? If it cost 9 mill, then it will cost $3 to fix it...Jeez...I wonder if this will slow down WT at all?
Thank God it didn't go east east and hit Magnum. THANK GOD!
Didn't VertiGo cost 1.9 Million?

I was giving an example....

So if it cost 1.9, assuming 1/3 of it is ruined from the fall, then around $650,000 is needed.

I doubt it cost 9 million, WT is only about 11 isn't it?

Somethign doesn't add up though, wind couldn't have done this, something else catostrophic had to have happened. In the case of spontaneous collapse I would say S and S would bear some responsibility as this is not even a year old.

1.4 million right around if I remember..

And S&S is on the way to help investigate..
