Thats if you take the highway and dont make three bathroom breaks and stop for dinner at shoneys like we did

I've never been to Cedar Point, but I hear it's nothing special.
Top 5 coasters: 1. Millenium Force 2.(tie) Dragster/Maverick 3. Shiekra 4. Alpengeist 5. Shivering Timbers

If you look at the artwork, you are able to clearly see where the antique cars are along with the buildings along the midway. Not to mention the lake and CP&LE Railroad. Also, not to mention Skyhawk in the upper right hand corner. I personally believe it.

Why are there even topics like this??

It IS possible to have a 90+ degree drop from 107 ft. Will it happen? NO.

wheres this so caled concept art at? in another thread? im so condused!

I honestly think that the concept art is on the money or close to. Just look at some of the Aerials and line up the footers. Also look where the other pond is, its funny thaton the aerial there is a green pipe coming out on the ground to fill in the hole with water. So I guess Mr. Scott is right to a point.

Yes, you can go 90+ drop from 107 ft. Will it happen, YES!!! Remember NEW direction!!

It'll be interesting to see how it's done though.

The concept artwork does seem very professional and seems to be close to what Maverick would really be like. I wouldnt be suprised if this was actually it. but then again Screamscape is not the most reliable source out there. So i agree with Hopman that it will all be intresting...

Granted, CP does not read every single site on the web, but it has also been proven before that they do see whats going on in the online CP community.

That being said, its hard for me to believe that if this was a legitimate piece of concept art, copyrighted by Cedar Fair LP, they would be taking some major legal action right now to get that removed...

Although the picture is quite impressive, there are some things that don't quite line up for me... For instance, the lift hill shows angled supports all the way to the ground, while from our aerial pics, it is clear that there are vertical supports running parallel to the "launch" track on each side. Bravo to the artist who did that art, but something doesn't line up for me.

hmm I must be missing something, I logged on and saw this topic.

Where is this "concept art" didn't see it in another thread.

Due to PointBuzz policy, we can not post a link to the art (although others have tried). It is basically a quasi-blurry picture of a so-called completed Maverick...

The site in question is...well... questionable...

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

I found it.

I am not sure I can totally belive it.

Also why would they "spill the beans" days before its going to be announced?

MrScott has said before that when he says, "water will be involved" he means more than just going over it. Plus, we already knew this ride was going to go over water in the area after the launch.

You guys are dummys.. first of all, a 107 foot, 95 degree drop can be done and is not impossible, and I think it'd be kickass if 'Maverick' had one, I can just imagine the airtime!
Second, the concept art is believable, I think CP is not being anal and removing it so when all the fanboys look at it they get really excited and hype it up, then when they announce it for offical, they get a second wave of hype. Although ScreamScape isn't the best place for a leak in the project, I completly believe it.
Third, I think it'd be pretty funny if 'Maverick' ends up not even being the name..

I think that would be funny too if the name was not Maverick :) But I guess its better than calling it "new coaster" or "unknown coaster" there is a chance that it won't be called "Maverick" but CP has the trademark on that name so I guess thats what we're callin it for now. We will all know soon enough!:) *** Edited 9/2/2006 7:27:43 PM UTC by Zbusta***

Here: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2163.htm?picture=17 97 dgrees from a 72 foot lift hill. I'm not saying P2007 will have that, and I am taking the "concept art" with a grain of salt, but it is most certainly possible!

I know I will get flamed on this post but here goes. IMHO this is maverick . I looked at this concept artwork pic, It looks like its a poor pic of a table top model. I think the pic is legit, just kinda blurry . like someone snuck in and caputured the pic with a cell phone. Look at the shadows on it...especially on the far right side you can see a shadow line from top to bottom.. and the tree line at the near top changes from a 3d look to a 2d flat picture.. the buildings, they look like models. I hope I'm right, this coaster looks awsome !!! As far as the specs go... I think who ever took the pic is makeing a guesstimate on the hieght and drop ..But again this is IMHO so be kind ..LOL

You guys want to know if that concept art is legit? Simple way to find out, try posting a link. You think Walt and Jeff have been going crazy trying to block out that concept art over an enthusiast made mock-up that isn't right?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Just took a look at the art on screamscape.

Looks very, very possible.

101 on Magnum and counting...

After seeing the COncept, I see it becoming a GOOD CHANCE in what the final coaster will look like. If it is, I will be VERY happy, cause it looks astonishing. YAY THEMING!!!!
