Winter Chill Out Live Blog Discussion

Also it looks like most all of the valravn seat pics came out amazingly dark. We can't even see my daughter and I's picture it is so dark.

I've had the good fortune to attend a few enthusiast events with activities in the ballroom. Such a gorgeous space.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

The head of live entertainment told an interesting story today about the ballroom. The last major rehab on the ballroom was when they were having a major conference there back in the early 2000's . They painted it and got it into tip top shape, the best it had looked in years. Conference that was to have happened ended up getting cancelled. The date of the conference September 12, 2001.

I'm really pissed about Skyscraper and Chick-fil-a. I LOVE both of those, Skyscraper being one of my favorite rides and Chick being my absolute favorite by a mile place to eat.

Did they at least give Shawn a chance to have moment alone with STR to say goodbye?

No, he just walked right on past it without taking any last photos. He's trying to forget about it.

I had a great time, the weather was perfect and I like the changes for the upcoming season. I met Rob (HeyIsn'tThatRob?) and he hung out with us most of the time. It was great meeting you! And another poster from here spotted me and asked if I was "Thabtu", he said name was either Dale or Jerry but didn't say his username, sorry I forget your name, but it was great meeting you. I liked how Tony made that theming joke in my group about the bubbles on the new Coke building up by the front gate.

So the Fresh Cut Fry stands will somewhat resemble RCT food stands?

On the scale of french fries, where would you put the Cedar Point fresh cut fries? Between Five Guys and Thrasher's?

Think you meant this. On a somewhat unrelated note i noticed the new announcements for CP were trending on Facebook and I saw a lot of hate towards CP. I saw a lot of bring back Geauga lakes, CP is removing 3 rides and raising the price how much?, CP is too expensive, and how could they take out shoot the rapids when they have sucky rides like Mean Streak, Cedar Creek mine ride, and corkscrew, CP is overrated and too expensive. Not sure if anyone else noticed all the hate

Eh, that won't dent their yearly income. And also less waiting time for me.

Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

The only thing Mean Streak is good for is a GIANT bon fire!

^^^ Basically every comment section on the internet has a lot of hate and disdain so I wouldn't give it much of a second thought.

The basic gist of the coke store bubbles joke was "we know how well CP does theming so I guess the bubbles will work for a couple months" Indeed.

It was kind of nice to see Jason and Tony poking so much fun at themselves and the company. "CP does somethings very very well.......other things not so much." Jason said back in the day there used to be full out indian shows with the full outfits in frontierland. Said its something we will never ever ever see again.

Jason called the go karts the gas guzzling environmental terrors.

Tony's exact words "Shoot the rapids sucks" Said people speak with their feet and there were not enough people riding it.

Gas guzzling Environmental Terrors?? .....That honestly surprises me. Most of those go-karts could go days without having to be gassed up.

How much were they selling the Valravn models for?

I believe the valravn kits were 35$. The rest were 30$. Valravn more because it had multiple colors. They had top thrill. MF. Magnum. Gatekeeper I believe. They had a fully assembled valravn model on display and I couldn't believe how small it was. Not impressed at all with them.

Yesterday was my first Winter Chill Out, and second total off season tour. The weather, along with all the cool things we got to see and hear about made for a great time. Huge thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Thanks again, Walt, for the live blog.

I really like how this event has become the time for secondary announcements; little mysteries and extra updates that were not packaged along with the "big one" in late-season. Of course this year certainly had a lot to tell with STR and Challenge Park.

What's truly fun is having two significant areas of the park being opened up for expansion.

Promoter of fog.

They should have at least held a last ride auction for the go-karts!

I think they would need people interested in riding the Go Karts prior to holding a last ride auction for them.

It seems like they edited the Valravn pics... we re-downloaded ours and it is brighter.

On another note, did anybody notice that a lot of fencing around the park is gone? Raptor's chain-link fences around the "low zones" are gone, as is most of the wooden fence around CCMR's helix. I wonder if they are being replaced as a reaction to the tragedy on Raptor, or whether it's just something normal.
