Your greatest moment at Cedar Point

The one that sticks out the most for me was my first rides on the Magnum in 1989. I followed the Magnum closely from the time it was announced to its opening. The publicity led me to join ACE which led to a whole new personal coaster mania for me. My first times on Magnum were at coaster mania {then magnum mania} we had an ERT in the morning of June 2nd 1989. I will never forget seing the ride when we got to Cedar Point and being totally wowed by its height. That was also the first time I was on Perimeter road going to the back of the park.. I was also very nervous about it and also this was my first coaster event and seeing people that knew more about coasters and been on more coasters than me. I definately do not come from a roller coaster family. But there was also a lot of excitement over the ride and I got 7 rides in that day and how imediatly I had a new number one favorite. I rode it 12 times that day. That day I bought a Magnum t-shirt and wore it a lot

Close runners up where riding Millennium in the front seat. First ride on Raptor and seeing the park for the first time when I was 7.

The first time I rode Magnum in 1990 it caused me to start smoking again, after quiting for 3 months. It scared the hell out of me. I've ridden it dozens of times since.

I about made a mess in my pants on my first Millie ride in 2000. I now ride that as much as I ride Maggie.

And I still smoke cigarettes.

The first time I drove down the causeway and saw CP for the first time. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky it was beautiful.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

Have had many...prolly all the defining moments of my life have happened at CP. Picked up a girl once, rode Thunder Canyon 6 times throughout the day once without myself getting wet, yet all my friends getting soaked everytime.

Probably last summer though, I was having a tough time with friends, girls, jobs, and life in general. So I went to cp all alone and rode like every ride and ran from one to another. When the day was over, I felt like Rocky reaching the top of the stairs, lol.

My first ride ever at CP, Raptor.

101 on Magnum and counting...

Getting there in one piece, my mom drove. LOL ;)

Riding Gemini for the first time. I was so scared but it turned out to be my favorite ride after i got off.

Being the first rider on TTD after a lengthy breakdown...and waiting 5 hours....

Call me crazy. ^_^

Here are the most memorable moments for me

  • Back in 1998 when I was 9 years old, I can still remember pulling up to the park and seeing everything all at once, admidst a bad rain storm. I was in a state of shock. I can still remember seeing Raptor going up the lift hill at dusk.
  • Back in 1998, my first ride on Magnum. It took me 4 times to get on it. I walked up got in the car and went back down the exit ramp 3 times, but on the fourth I finally got on and was absolutely terrified.
  • 2003 Riding TTD for the first time in the front seat. It blew me away. The second the light turned green, I really didn't know what I was in for. The rest was just a blur. Too bad it's not that good everytime.
  • 2004 Having the fire works go off as I just had the best ride of my life on MF as we hit the straightaway before the final turn.

when:Opening Day this year.
moment: Getting the first train out for the season on Dragster. Not to mention that it was my first rollback. I was in such shock and disbelief (2 of my wishes came true) that I had tears in my eyes....though those were most likely just from the wind.;)

Watching the glass blower, walking through frontier town with my Mom and Dad and family and the helix on Mine Ride, wow was that fun. At that time Blue Streak was the biggest coaster at CP! Remember earthquake and pirate ship dark rides? Jumbo Jets? What about jungle larry? And yes all the family rides that are now in the grave yard! I still love CP and there are a few places that haven't changed much since I was a little guy. I cherish those memories now more than ever, especially with little guys of my own. ENJOY!!!

Greatest moment at the park has to be the first time I waited for TTD. (NOTICE I said wait, not ride) We were lined up next to the fence by the launch track, and the ride was just about to open. A ride op strapped in for a test run and rolled out into the staging area, and I heard the dragster sound effects for the first time. The crowd went WILD, everyone was cheering and so excited just to see the ride op's train launch. This is why I'm such a huge TTD fan. The ride is great, but the reaction from the GP after seeing the ride and riding it for the first time is priceless.

Redsox5,

I agree with you on seeing CP for the first time over the Causeway. It look even better after a 12-hour bansai run from NH. Every time I come over the bridge and see the park, I get a chilly, giddy feeling.

Whenever I go to CP, on the causeway, when I first saw MF it looked not real. And ever since then it doesn't look real, because its so big and blue with its sweet support pattern.

My BEST moment is any moment I'm there, staying at Lighthouse Point, of course.

My first night ride on MF. Complete and total amazement. Greatest thrill of my life.

Coaster Fanatic Since 2003

Riding down a road and seeing TTD, PT, and MF sticking out of the treetops. Then going further down and seeing all of it. The we stop at a marina across the bay to look at it. Seeing MF going down the hill and seeing all the stuff operating. I was so happy. Then when I finally got in it was so surreal. I was shocked that I was finally there.

My first ride on MF on 1-2 parkside. I remeber see the strobe light for aircraft. Then I gripped the bars on the seat on your sides and just going over the top. It was my dad's first time and he was just yelling YES! YES! then YEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!! all the way down while I was screaming like a little girl. Then I remember my mouth drying out from the wind and the constant g's all the way to the airtime hill then the airtime hill which felt like forever. Then most of the time I was screaming, not like a little girl but like a man, then I don't remember much after that. I remember going into the station and when the guy asked how was your ride I screamed "The best moment in my life!" I remember getting off and seeing my brother at the gate (he was too scared which is wierd because he's older and it's usually the other way around) and I was just smiling for the next half hour till I got a headache from MS. :( I have the On ride photo from my first ride on MF. My brother finally went on the second day and it's his second favorite ride. His favorite is mantis which is wierd. Mine is MF and will always be. I'll stop rambling now.

Forgot something. My first night ride in the Airtime seat and going no hands on the drop.

My first visit as a parent. We were walking back to Sandcastle after our first full day in the park, along the path between Magnum's pretzel and the beach. My son (then not-yet-two, and not a big talker) pronounced it a "nice day."

We've been passholders ever since.

My greatest moment is when I walked on Milli ten times in a row!! :)

Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27

Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-

Scared of Rollercoasters until '96 myself. Until my school's band went down there on a trip. All day I would just wait in line with my girlfriend, then walk down the exit while she rode. When finally my girlfriend said she'd uhh.. well.. do something if I rode Raptor with her. Got on the ride and that was it.

Loved rollercoasters and CP ever since.
