New season, new attitude.

Maybe if Michigan's Adventure got new rides, the staff would be happier.

^ Yes please! MA is my home park and every year is another disappointment. Obviously the park is no where close to being as popular as CP, but some changes in the ride lineup would be nice. I do get an email after every visit, but I've already filled out the survey so I can't fill it out again. This year has seemed to be a challenge for MA. Every time I go I usually see a security guard filling in for a ride operator. Seems odd to be understaffed at this point in the season. At least Shivering Timbers is smooth this year.

I experienced the opposite last night at a few places, but totally got this experience at a few others. It was really hit or miss.

We walked in to Chickie's and Pete's and were going to sit down and eat, but we had a 10 year old child with us who changed her mind just as the hostess told us to follow her so I said "on second thought, I think we're going to go get something else".

The girl rolled her eyes so hard and pursed her lips like we just committed the ultimate crime against humanity and stormed back over to put the menus back. I simply apologized and said "Sorry about that, she changed her mind" - and she smiled sarcastically and said "it's fine."

Me, being be, couldn't leave it at that - so I said "sure didn't seem like it" - turned around and walked out.

There were quite a few others, but it'll make for a long novel so I don't really want to bore everyone.

However, the guy working the fry stand when we asked for the platinum pass deal was awesome. He was quick, friendly, and made it look fun. When he brought our drinks, he announced them with pride, and set them down like he was saving the day. It was awesome.

I don't like Chickies and Petes, and I've never heard anything good about the service there either. There must be something about the sitdown restaurants where the waiters and waitresses have some sort of entitled attitude.

However, Michelle at TGIFridays on the beach was awesome Monday night when we went there. We had a group of 15 and she was more than patient with us. Not to mention, we got to sit in the back room with all of the old album covers on the wall

What sucks is that I really like their fries. I wish there was a walk up window that they could be obtained.

Just bring your own shaker of Old Bay seasonings :)

^ So based on what some of you have said about Michigan's Adventure's, are you guys going to send an e-mail to Cedar Fair about how your visit was? Also when you visited, did you get an e-mail asking how your visit was? I always get one during opening weekend from Cedar Point every year.

I did get an email about 5 days after my visit and filled out the survey with my concerns. But unless they hear a lot more of it, I don't think they are really going to do anything about it. I don't think they can fix staff attitudes too well if they are understaffed and would be unable to fill those positions again mid-season. From what I've seen, and really it's no different than any other year, it's a lot of young people who could not care less about their summer job.
