Possible new announcement date, 9/11/15.

Here's my favorite part: copy and paste the coordinates the FAA site gives (41° 28' 50.00" N, 82° 41' 01.00" W) on Google Maps. :)

Pasted, what was the interesting part?

The permit is for aerial work, not for work below recognized airspace, which I believe is 100 feet. So groundwork will not be included on that permit.

Might be a good chance for a dive under the Marina gate. Looks about right with the gate moving slightly as it is expected to

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Or a bridge dive under of the new Marina Entrance.........

Cedar Point North one upping Cedar Point south (Carowinds) with this breathtaking new idea.

I'd love it though. Cedar Point may not theme their rides, but they certainly theme the entrances to the park.

I can't see Cedar Point passing up the opportunity of redesigning a spectacular marina gate statement with this massive beast, especially under current management. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm sure we will be surprised by something when the official announcement comes.

Given the layout of the coaster, It seems difficult to picture a walkway anywhere under it.

At 228 days, it would have to be quite a few leap years.... :-)

That's practically a leap millennium. Which must mean it's going to cross over Millennium Force.

Cool, that makes more sense now.

I don't see anything going below ground level because of the high water table. Interesting also is that the peremeter road is not moving. Also, I saw new furnaces being installed in the HR building two weeks ago. If CP was ging to move the road and tear down Cedars and the Human Resources building, I don't think they would be installing new equipment.

That is kind of disappointing that the perimeter road is not being moved. As someone who once lived in Cedars, I was really hoping they would be coming down someday. But this coaster layout would commit them to the current road alignment even more then the presence of those dorms. I suppose we could still hope that someday the leg of perimeter road between where calypso used to be and the train station eventually gets converted into an alternate midway, with some sort of ride(s) where Cedars currently sits. In that case perimeter road would be rerouted to run between famous daves and the HR building and slight turn from there to align with rest of the road.

Can somebody draw a line in this picture where exactly the Marina Entrance is/runs through?

It runs though there. Which in my previous post i mention that I don't see how a walkway like that can go under the coaster.

So my guess is that it would be located where Calypso was. Although I foresee long lines for the coaster if it's right next to one of the entrances to the park... I think the BlueStreak midway would have to be remodeled if this was the case to make it a little more attractive, especially if this is where guests first enter.

Well, they could route so it doesn't pass under the low areas of track, and then, like, fence it off. With warning signs and stuff.

Yeah, but they'd have to warn you to read the warnings that explain the specific dangers you face by crossing the fence, lest the fence be rendered useless.

The lowest point along that line is the end brake run, which for such a short ~230' coaster, would be quite high. And there'd be no issue routing a path there (see Magnum, Raptor, Iron Dragon, etc.).

The center of this photo would be a good place for the entrance, which is very close to the current location according to the image posted ^^^^:

I agree, and thats probably where it will be. 8 more days until we know 😊

I will have photoshop and sketchup available to me tomorrow morning. If that layout is right, and the path goes under the middle, I can get a pretty good image of what it will look like.

I wonder If part of the ride will have a tunnel entrance for guests to pass through similar to Millennium Force? Especially with rumors of opening up that path where Calypso used to be.
