Sky scraper and go karts leaving

^^ I wondered that as well, but then I remembered what they did at Carowinds where it is partially over water:

I think CF can be creative with placement

Where would Ripcord even fit inside the park?

I can think of a dozen places that don't require too much maneuvering. I prefer this

Sorry about the crappy photoshop (err... paint), but it is to scale.

Take this with a GIANT grain of salt. This development really intrigues me.

From what I have been told, RipCord and SkyScraper will be relocated inside the main park. Where? I don't know. The go kart tracks will be removed and the miniature golf will see its last season in 2016.

As for what is replacing it, I've been told a few things, including Soak City expansions, dark ride, and an eventual wooden roller coaster, not all in this area, of course. Again, take all of this with a huge grain of salt. I consider my source very knowledgable, but for the sake of their employment, I can't divulge too much more. Let's just say, this person has been right on the nail for the past 5-6 seasons. But, please, keep this as speculation.

Are you implying that all of those additions are coming in 2017, or are they spread out over the next few years? Because that would be an expensive year if we are getting a woodie, Soak City expansion and a dark ride.

Definitely over several years, no way we would see that in just one season.

Ignoring for a moment that that location does require a substantial amount of maneuvering (removal and replacement of substantial storage/back-of-the-house operations, removal and replacement of haunt, substantial renovation of a very new restaurant), please list the other 11.

I'll get some popcorn. ;-)

Only problem with that location, other than what djDaemon said, you need as much clearance for the forward swing as if you had lift towers the same distance in the front as the back, to assure the riders don't swing into anything.

I'm thinking they could put Ripcord in the Cedars footprint when they demolish it.

I personally wouldn't care if they didn't keep it. It takes up a good sized space to fit in the park. If they could find a place over water like kennywood then it might work.

First ride; Magnum 1994

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Millennium Island!

In an area of the park with the lowest amount of foot traffic?

I think it's current location doesn't get a whole lot of foot traffic either. I'm guessing about 80% of the total park guests don't go to Soak City or stay at the resorts so they have no reason to go back there.

Perhaps, but I can't imagine MI gets more foot traffic than Challenge Park.

No argument there. I'm not sure if DA was free, it would draw any sizeable crowds. I went in there since it was free with Platinum, and I found it to be kind of meh. If you want good photos of MF's low zones, that's the only good thing about it. I'd rather see MI be the location of a dark ride. That way if it requires an ugly structure, it won't block any good views.

Ripcord might be able to fit in the space between Millennium Force and the Midway Train Station.

I just tried to put it in that location and it would block the whole midway through there.

Remove the stadium to make a thrilling swing toward the beach and Lake Erie.

So Sky Skraper and go karts are leaving for sure. Rip Cord is staying and going inside the park but in a very neat location. (I can't say where because a ride/rides will be leaving us next year). putt-putt will stay for another year as of right now!

Ok, seriously. If any of this information is true, you should REALLY reconsider taking your business elsewhere. Regardless of how many people might enjoy having things spoiled ahead of time, it's very much not appreciated.

Boohoo?

If you don't wanna know, then don't visit this thread. Simple as that.

That's why I didn't say what rides will be leaving us soon. Sorry.

I find it a fun game trying to guess what parks are up to before the announcements, however there are rules to the game. The first rule is any information obtained through any employee or contractor is strictly off limits. The only exception to this rule is information dropped by high level park officials, such as a park GM or media relations -- however this exception does not apply if they told this information in confidence.

Any information gathered of/photos taken of: new footers, deconstruction, special equipment, or interesting people (such as a SALLY employee with a park employee) is fair game -- as long as this information was gathered by a member of the public in an legal and ethical way. (Photos taken from rides is not legally obtained intelligence, but reports from riders is fair game.)

Any publicly available engineering and planning documents filed with any government agency is also fair game. Doing things like finding uploaded web pages that are not linked to is also okay, however hacking (accessing private computer systems, guessing passwords, ect.) to find information is not cool (and could end with a knock on the door).
