Winter Chill Out Live Blog Discussion

Kind of disappointing they didn't say much about what they are going to do with the area surrounding Valravn.

This. I love, love, love french fries covered with chili and cheese sauce. But allow my self this heavenly treat only on visits to Cedar Point.

Do we know who the park is using for Wifi? Comcast, Frontier, etc???

We have Buckeye Cable System in the marina, I would expect it to be the same in the park.

Did they mention what they're going to do with the extra land gained from Challenge Park? Granted, this won't give them much extra space and it's a little hard to access, considering it's partly under Magnum...But now, with the relocation of Slingshot, one can almost imagine some kind of out and back roller coaster behind Gemini. The entrance could be by Mean Streak, and the ride layout could closely follow the road behind Gemini - I don't know what kind of roller coaster would be able to fit in that location, but it would be cool. I only wish that Cedar Point would give Mean Streak the RMC treatment and replace Magnum with a B&M Hyper coaster at some point in the future.

Have you even kept up? The extra land will most likely be used for a Soak City expansion. Seeing as though most Cedar Fair parks have upgraded and expanded their water parks in the past couple of years. It's likely CP will follow suit in 2017.

Sorry, I just joined the forums and haven't been in very in touch. I agree with you, a Soak City expansion sounds in order for 2017 in the Challenge Park area. But what about the plot of land where Slingshot was? Do you think we can expect some kind of flat ride there in the future?

My son & I use our Platinum passes to visit both KI (12 times) & CP (3 times) on a regular basis and we tend to look for the healthier foods. Judging by the eating habits of others visiting the park, we are probably out of the norm when we do not indulge in the elephant ears & other junk food.

Raptor, Banshee, MF & Beast.
Rode Corkscrew first year it was open, yes I am that old!

^^ What are you talking about? Slingshot was not removed.

Unless I heard wrong, Slingshot is being relocated to where Shoot the Rapids is now. Can anyone confirm that?

The rumor is that RipCord will end up where STR is. Slingshot is still at home next to Gemini.

Ahhh, that's probably what I was referencing. My bad.

Even though my wife and I are 99% sold on joining Ride Warriors, I would still like a liiiiiiiittle more info on it by the time buying comes around...

When it says "give you one-time-use access to the Fast Lane entrance at any ride"
Does that mean
1. On the day you choose, you get fastlane access for the whole day (1x per ride)
2. On the day you choose, you get to pick one ride and get fastlane access on that ride only 1x
3. ?

Also, Will Ride Warriors Club members will get access to Millennium Walkback as well?

I would assume this to be the case, but you never know lol.

All told, it's not a super bad deal, since we join a coaster club every year anyways for Milly Walkback and Coastermania. I'm willing to give it a shot inaugural year to see if it ends up being worth it.

There is no more Millennium Walkback.

Yeah, no more walkbacks... Hopefully they reconsider in the future. I do like the Sunrise Thrills idea and the Ride Warriors club might make sense for me instead of a traditional coaster club since I rarely visit other parks, but it's all getting so... expensive. I'm going to have to pick and choose what events to attend now. Hopefully the Ride Warriors Club idea pans out.

Am I reading Tony's blog wrong, or are they seriously limiting Coastermania to only 1,200 people?

I'm too sexy for my harness!

No, no and no! As good as B&M hypers are, they are not as fun as Magnum. Magnum is a special ride that provides a ride experience not possible with more modern coasters. It almost simulates a wooden coaster in steel. Magnum needs to stay forever, just like Blue Streak.

It's been confirmed that there will be a limit for some time now. I'm not surprised they are limiting and charging for the event now. The event has just gotten too huge. There's so many people now, it kind of defeats the purpose. And there have been lots of incidents where people act like jerks at these events. Last year was my first CM, and I thought it was really crowded for being an exclusive event. Limiting and charging will fix alot of the issues.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Magnum might be a special coaster, and doubtless will remain for decades to come, but there's absolutely no way it could compare to a hyper coaster. Have you ridden Diamondback or Fury 325?

Ah damn, I must have missed the no walkback memo lol!
