Survey this morning - All Season Drink Bottles

Shawn wouldn't the plastic cups be more damaging to the environment because they are plastic which is petroleum based and requires a ton of energy to produce? Plastic is also non-biodegradable. The paper comparatively is from a somewhat renewable source and breaks down after a few years in a landfill. It would be an interesting thesis to write a paper on.

On topic, I too like your roaming locker idea.

Well to better answer that question, yes you're right. However, that's only if everyone throws their souvenir bottle cup in the trash. I know it's hard to get everyone to recycle, but when you recycle plastic bottles like the souvenir bottle cups, it can be recycled into something new again like say a milk carton. Yes paper breaks down after a few years in the land fill, but wouldn't it be better to recycle those renewable resources? Not trying to debate you, just saying.... Also that bootymix guy had a good point about how the souvenir bottles are made now.

I got the survey but I haven't filled it out yet. I'm not sure how useful I'll be to them I usually walk into the park with a bottle of Gatorade and refill it with water from the drinking fountains.

It's cool if they want to offer the throw-away cups option. I, however, will be keeping my refillable souvenir cup. I don't want to deal with a flimsy paper cup with no lid and no straw. I like having a handle I can loop onto something to carry it if I don't want to hang on to it, and I like having a lid to keep it from sloshing all over, and to keep bugs from getting into it. I understand some people don't like that option so the throw away cups option would probably work better for them.

Having both options seems to be the way to go so people have a choice. I do, however, think the throw away cups option should cost more. You want convenience, you should expect to pay a premium for it, and you will undoubtedly contribute more to the increased waste that particular program would bring than someone using a refillable cup every visit.

I can't see why they just don't go ahead and implement this plan. It would cost them virtually nothing to do so. And they can still offer the option of the bottles for those with that preference plus they probably sell alot of them with one time visitors.

It always fascinates me how easily some of you spend the park's money. :-)

But even if we assume their costs for this (including marketing, materials, disposal costs, etc.) are "virtually nothing", it's still far cheaper, and more fiscally-appropriate, to gauge interest first.

Anything to replace souvenir bottles, I'm all for. Those things are nothing but a nuisance for operations with rides that either have separate loading/unloading stations, or don't have storage bins. Which, by the way, I'm all for all rides getting rid of storage bins. But that's a different story for a different time and place.

Who got this survey? I've had a Platinum Pass since 2011, and haven't seen any of these surveys that have been discussed over the years.

I believe the surveys are location based primarily. I've had platinum pass since 2008, make 4-6 trips a year from Wisconsin, and don't get them.

Which is ironic since I just got home from sunny hot 10 days in Florida about 35 minutes from Orlando on the Atlantic and I got emails from the mouse and universal ( I think spam from my SunPass). And I haven't been to a Disney park since 1993 or Universal since 2013.

I think maybe you have to choose to participate in surveys. I think I remember choosing to participate in them a while ago in one of their emails. I think it was in a feedback email where I did it, but I'm not entirely sure. Or, maybe they are just chosen randomly.

If you get any of the "tell us about your visit" surveys they ask at the end if you would like to participate in more surveys. I've noticed this year that the more detailed answers I add in my surveys the more I seem to be getting.
