Top Thrill Dragster 2022 Status

I'm guessing if any hints start to drop, it might begin late July or early August.

Take it for what it’s worth:

People are going to go to the park for the next few months with the expressed intent to literally watch paint dry. CP might as well give out brushes and offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to help repaint the track. Save some man hours...

I would pay that price if offered haha

^ We’ve all been thinking about this wrong…… Cat in the Hat is the obvious theme

What do you mean they will start dropping hints? I think this the painting alone is sufficient to draw a stir from the GP

Usually they will add posters along construction fence or other parks or rides will have weird little pieces added around the park that have obscure things hinting.

I'd love to see the insurance man's face when the park says they want to let enthusiasts climb up on the attraction to help paint it. Specifically, the 2nd-tallest roller coaster on the planet.

Just get that base jumping dude with a can of paint up there, problem solved.

Theme Park Predictions YouTube channel put out a video that all of his sources say Zamperla is the one doing the overhaul. Save your time cause the whole 9 minute video is him complaining cause he was wrong and is an intamin fanboy.

Wow! and hear I thought that there would be nothing that tops the thrill of getting dragged on to a Zamperla Mouse coaster

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Looks like the contractor is Adena. Saw some marked trailers in the infield.

LeSourdesville/Americana once invited enthusiasts and all other interested parties to come and help paint and help refurbish their old woody, Screechin Eagle. Maybe not as tall as TTD but the sketch factor carried its own risk I’m sure.

It looks like the Dragster redo will not be a record breaker. Sure it will have a spike but that is about it. A big disappointment for coaster entusiasts.

That's odd, I'd consider myself a coaster enthusiast and if that is indeed what's being done (though absolutely nothing is confirmed yet), then that's still a pretty thrilling change.

I mean, guaranteeing a rollback on every ride seems like a blast to me...

I would have been perfectly content with a new theme and a new launch mechanism.

Promoter of fog.

To their point...I looked on Zamperla's website and cannot find a unique roller coaster? It's all flats...to think they are going to turn around and spit out a 420 ft behemoth with precision timed LSMs up to record breaking speeds? Tough proposition...

Sure!

..... unless it goes backward first and then forward, up and over. =/

Not really. Dragster will live on in a new way. We get to ride it still. And it looks like it will have a spike to get the ride going. Just because they aren't extending the top hat doesn't mean that enthusiast won't have something to look forward to.

argues just for clicks

I’ve been saying the exact same thing since I first heard Zamperla tossed out. Not to mention a switch track to make a spike work.
