I debated a flat Earther once.........so I know nothing good comes with engaging with this kind of bizarre mindset.

As a respiratory therapist, I had no idea the events occurring around me the last couple years were all fake. Thats’s good to know.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

So how did the Pfizer happy juice work out for everyone? Still boosting? Safe and effective right? I love science. I bet a lot of people commenting here were happy to see people being forced to choose between feeding their families and taking an experimental injection. I work with people who need to get medically certified to be able to work, and quite a few of my colleagues were medically disqualified after being forced to take the shot, a few even died, but that's all just a coincidence probably. Yay Fauci!

Also, what's wrong with saying plandemic? It was an artificial virus that was released, whether intentionally or unintentionally, from a lab which was doing experiments that it shouldn't have been.

Anyway, you can't convince people they've been fooled, it's a journey one must take on their own.

SO HOW ABOUT THAT ROLLERCOASTER IN THE CAROLINAS, EH?

The thing I wonder now is - I rode it on June 21st at around 6pm. Was there a slight crack when I rode it? What was the condition of the ride at that time? I'm just curious. -Lisa

For certain it had a big crack, the biggest crack... No doubt. Lucky you made it out alive. You had to ride before 5:32 pm on June 21st to have hidden it crack free.

I can't ask for a laugh react enough here. Fake pandemic, died suddenly, intentional weather manipulation, Pfizer juice, medically disqualified? And the "left wing" are the extremists? That is hilarious. I assume you all believe the earth is flat, lizard people are running things from underground, Bill Gates is working on depopulation, chemtrails, democrats are a secret cabal of sexual predators and human traffickers, the election was stolen, January 6th was a peaceful protest, etc.

Promoter of fog.

Gotta love when someone claims to be here (or anywhere) just for the fun and to keep politics far away from any of their concerns.
Then just spew.

Anyone with cats can tell you that the earth is NOT flat. The common joke is - How do we know the earth is not flat? If it was flat, cats would have knocked everything off of it by now. - Lisa

I can’t wait for the “reimagined” Fury 325

Judging by some reports, it's possible it could have been present when you rode it. Ultimately, we don't know the exact date the crack formed. The one engineer I saw on YT said that these kinds of crack spread slow at first then speed up before they completely separate. So it could have been there for weeks for all we know. And for what's it's worth, it "safely" ran for a short period after the support completely sheared.

Of course, that's not a suggestion that it COULD run without being connected to that support. XD

When you ask how a given company went bankrupt, answer typically is slowly at first and then very quickly. Expect the same was true for Fury. Whether it was the support sinking/settling or crack itself in the support. Slowly at first and then very quick.

I find comfort that the train still completed a lap with the support essentially not connected to the track. And I don't know enough about daily ride inspections to know whether its something that should have been caught sooner. A lot of track, support, welds, bolts, etc. that would need to be inspected. Not sure its practical to inspect everything on a daily basis. But expect there are protocols in place and they will need to check to see if those protocols were followed. And whether those protocols need to be revised in light of what happened.

That's a big pile of stupid we don't need here. The purge is easier when people out themselves as ultimately stupid.

This is why over the last few years, I only visit this site sporadically and as a whole, am reluctant to call myself a coaster nerd.

It seems more times than not, general conversations about anything coaster or park related (CP's bathrooms, The city of Sandusky or this here), turn into debates and finger pointing over things that are unrelated to the topic.

Theres a know it all that I can always count on to enter the chat and from their podium, "professionally belittle" anyone with an opposing viewpoint.

I wouldn't even entertain going to a PB event because if this goes on here, how are some of y'all IRL?

Is there anyway we, as coaster NERDS, can keep a subject on track without disrespecting someone's whole character and understand that none of us knows it all? So none of us should act like we do?

Is there no chill spot left in the world or online?

Writing this knowing I'll probably get 99% backlash for it, which would actually cosign what I'm saying, but I've sat by and watched this fun place turn into the equivalent of Fyre Fest minus the lunch meat sandwiches.

All I would say is don't let this site or the conversations here dictate whether or not you choose to call yourself an enthusiast. A good number of years ago, I decided that my enthusiasm for coasters, parks and this hobby as a whole comes from the real life interactions I get with my close friends and not from what discourse is going on at any given time. I've seen FAR worse enthusiast discourse on social media compared to what goes one here. Are we perfect? No. Will everyone get along all the time? No. Is you opinion on anything valid? Absolutely. But you should also except responses from people that are going to rub you the wrong way. It's the one true constant of the Internet. The only advice I could give anyone is to just move on and not let those words get under your skin. Focus on what you enjoy about the hobby and tune out the noise. If you truly can't handle it, then perhaps another site is better for you.

I can't help what philosophical side the site or the overall number of users lean towards (there are echo chambers everywhere you go). And I can't promise some of the users you find annoying to change how they respond. They have their reasons for why they respond the way they do. I may come across as smug in my responses but I would never seek to deliberately hurt someones feelings. But I'm also going to stick to my guns just as much as anyone else here.

Back to Fury, I'm curious if we'll see the park add these types of gussets to the damaged support and other supports.

Most of the Internet disappoints me, but not because it isn't exactly what I want it to be.

How are you gonna do that when they TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY? /s

As it pertains to the Fury support... my new fear is assuredly unfounded, but it's not unrealistic to think that people may start becoming theme park sleuths, and trying to find any indication at all of a crack in a support. We've already seen some sort of marking on a Gatekeeper support, which the park promptly inspected and confirmed wasn't an issue. But that resulted in ride downtime (or at least I believe so). I just hope that we don't see a flurry of erroneous reports that send parks down wild goose chases, as the result of a single failure. Obviously I hope we don't alternatively find that there's a systemic issue with coaster supports, but that's extremely unlikely.
