You would think if someone on the inside of Zamperla leaked this, some one is getting fired. CF trying to build a new relationship and this happens, wonder what that might do for their trust and relationship moving forward.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Could be.... but the fast switch video is no longer on YouTube (can anyone confirm whether it was actually posted via Zamperla's account, or was it posted via a different account?) You can still see it on the archive.org copy... and it seems to be an odd choice. The switch isn't even complete. It doesn't have the second set of rails yet. An odd choice for a promotional video. Plus the rest of the videos all appear to be 8 months old (and have a much higher production value)

See, to me it's more likely that someone made an honest mistake, something that happens all the time, rather than someone hacked the website of an international corporation, something that happens very rarely.

CoasterLine:

Yes, the videos were posted to Zamperla's YouTube:

The fact that those videos were unlisted means whoever "hacked" Zamperla would have also needed access to their Youtube channel to find that link. So it was either someone inside Zamperla making the page as a joke or hoax, or it's legit.

I genuinely love that someone would be more willing to accept that there is a rogue theme park hacker taking the time to illegally:

1) break into a ride manufacturer's web site and plant a fake web page with a ride agreement announcement

2) hack into the same company's YouTube channel and post a very real-looking video of a switch track

than believe that someone within that company either got a little trigger happy with posting things or mistakenly posted it on the public sites before they intended.

Can we all agree that this rogue hacker's name is Queue Anon?

Some people will literally be standing in line for this thing next year wondering if the "opening" of the "new ride" is all part of the clever ruse.

I don't know anything about switch track, but is there something unique about it in the video that makes it look to be destined for Sandusky?

Might be the Intamin box track in the video that matches the refurbed TTD launch track that offers a slight clue

I guess I am an uncaring novice when it comes to track designs and whose track looks like what.

But I do know that a yellow strap means it is Intamin.

It was probably just some web developer creating that page that they thought would be internal to the company in order to test and flush out the text on the page. I'm sure they want the page to go live as soon as Cedar Point announces it so they were just prepping in advance. I don't think there is anyway this was a hack job.

They might have thought there wouldn't be anyone that would notice that link go live for a little bit. Little did they know about the investigative abilities of this community.

I believe the videos were embedded on the page that was discovered. So all someone had to do was start guessing URLs on Zamperla's site. No "hacking" required.

Part of me thinks they wanted someone to find it, and the stats aren't what the ride will actually be.

^as in this thread finally gets shut down Tomorrow

I'll trust all things Six Flags Qiddiya when they're up and running.

I was in that camp, but they are ACTUALLY building Falcon's Flight, as insane as that sounds.

It's gone way beyond vertical and the work is happening on the cliff.

DMan:

I agree C Hurtling. I find it so hard to believe that Zamperla had a leak with a project of this magnitude...a mistake this big.

This happens with alarming frequency .... several rides leaked before in the same way.

I'm surprised (somewhat) but the lack of sophistication these parks/manufacturers have, but then again, I wouldn't have a clue how to protect this stuff....

I'm always amazed by conspiracy theorists.... the videos and other information make it fairly obvious this is a legit leak.

Sorta like the people claiming "lagoon maintenance" long beyond the point where it was pretty clear something much more significant was occurring.
