Single Use Fastlane

I mean, to each their own, but I do not understand this sequence of words to the point it may as well be written in Sanskrit. Out of curiosity, how much time did you save in this situation?

Regarding this single use version, at some point the park runs the risk of cheapening the Fast Lane experience by making it too accessible. But on the other hand, to the point above, there is likely some value in getting the "first hit" at a low price point so some may be more likely to pony up for the real deal in the future. But between these and season-long Fast Lane being priced so low compared to daily Fast Lane there seems to be an awful lot of people with access to this "premium" feature.

While I agree the all-season is priced low compared to daily, I really don't think it devalues the overall product. I think the price is high enough that many don't buy it. I also believe the limit on how many all-season they sell is significantly lower than the daily limit. For the single use, so far this year I'm thankful that they hasn't seemed to impact the FL waits. At least not in my experience anyway.

Maverick00 should be sure to visit the park around 3pm on a Saturday in October for that full and satisfying park experience.
For real- I thought by now I’d heard all the possible reasons for not using pay-to-cut, from the sensible to the ridiculous, but this one takes the cake.

In the latest meeting of Black Shirt Higher-ups, Onpointtony is told to announce the next great experience coming to CP. "Come and get the joy and thrill of spending large amounts of money and we promise you, there will be plenty of waiting for your enjoyment! Available for all park attenders with no limits."

I certainly understand both perspectives. Are you visiting the park to marathon ride and be done by 1:00pm? Or are you looking to make a day out of the experience? My answer likely varies depending on the occasion, but if I am going to the park on a weekend date in August, I am expecting lines. And I knowingly signed up for that.

DJ: the actual (not posted) wait time for the ride was 1:20. With the single-use FL, I got on in 25 minutes. I would say this was a combination of the FL line being half-full, and Ops tending to be slower than average at that moment.

No. And yes.

While some folks see the value in Fastlane so they can power ride, many (including myself) like to have Fastlane so we can make a relaxing day out of the visit. Even if I only ride everything once or twice, a day spent enjoying the midways, taking in a show, relaxing in the pavilion and watching a show or two while also hitting every ride makes it worth it. Not to mention the fact that you don't have to worry about any sort of strategy (things like avoiding Raptor in the morning, starting in the back of the park, etc) because you have the ability to ride what you want when you want.

So, you paid $27 to get an hour of your life back, which to me is a fantastic bargain, given how I personally value my time. Another way to look at it is that if my employer values my time at $X/hr, paying anything less than that to get an hour back is a good value.

And I wholeheartedly agree with the strategy as well. For me, my marathoning days are mostly over, at least for now when we visit since we prioritize the kids' experience over ours. So the ability to snag a few rides without spending a ton of time queuing holds tremendous value, even at the all day FL price point.

Or at least that was the case when the Platinum Pass allowed the purchase of FLP at the FL price point. And if that perk were available with Prestige, we'd actually consider that over Gold. But as it is, we can't really justify ponying up for Prestige.
