Great weather, got there a little after 4, thought I got a great parking spot until I realized the line started at the far end of shores. Got into the park about 4:30, got a TT2 ticket for 5-6. Waited in the Magnum line while it went down, then while they transferred trains.

Dropped off my stuff in a locker about 5:20, they were free today. TT2 line was back past the Power Tower exit. Watched the CP and Zamperla maintenance guys messing with some electric panels while TT2 was down. The reverse launch and curve up to the spike were definitely a new feeling. Got my stuff out of the locker at 7:42. Just enough time to get 2 more rides on Magnum and left just slightly before 8.

Didn't get a chance to try any of the other rides (Power Tower had some new signs), BBQ, or the bathrooms.

So, O.G dragster got moved way down on my favorites list. It was in the "if theres 45 mins or less wait ill go" list. Primarily because it was just too short. No time to process exactly what was happening.

My view changed after 4 laps on tt2 today. This echos Jeffs report. This FEELS like a brand new ride. It is way faster than it looks from the ground, even the first launch. The sensation when the train gets speed added is so cool. And that backwards spike...yes...like wicked twister x10. The back row was my favorite spot but every row is good. Being in the back and feeling that stall that lasts soooo long (while looking down and across at power tower) is pure bliss. Seriously physics wise...HOW can it stall so long vertical to the ground? The headchopper coming through the station is amazing and terrifying at the same time...and..compared to TTD, this thing cooks over the tophat...and the ejector air in the back..WOAH! Everything was just better than i would have expected!. Reliability wise, it was great for prayers from maria and they were dispatching trains at a pretty good rate. It did go down for a few minutes for rain. I know it had some downtime this evening (not sure what happened) but i defininitely see a VERY fun, very exciting, reliable ride that may have made it back (or almost there) to the top of my cp favorites list!

TT2 laps - 4

Was at the Prayers From Maria event. It was a great time. Rode TT2 three times - Middle, Front, Back in that order. Probably could have gotten a few more rides in if we pushed it, but we are getting old!

Three train ops today and aside from one train having a row roped off and a pause with a few empty trains that ran after a brief shower, it ran consistently all during the 2:45 we were in the park. The ops were doing a great job rolling out the next train as soon as the previous train hit the final brakes.

For me, the front row is the still the best experience. Having nothing visually in your way is great and when you hit the LSM for the 120mph launch, it feels every bit as crazy as the OG launch. You’re already hauling from the drop off the spike and it feels like you hit Ludicrous Speed. Then you just fly over the top hat.

Back is awfully good, though. The view from the spike is pretty amazing.

As for the fears that it’s a rough ride, it definitely shimmies laterally as you haul over the course. The first time you bend up the spike can be a little jarring since you literally don’t see it coming - it seems sooner than I would have thought! But given what’s going on with the ride, it’s pretty smooth. The roughest ride I had was the one in the middle, but I think that’s just because I had no idea what to expect.

The ride is great, plain and simple. It took what was a great ride and made it better. Trains look great, seats are super comfy, ride is now truly unlike any other. People are going to love it. I’m sure they’ll get the locker thing figured out over time (after riding, it’s very apparent why they don’t want anyone to have anything that could potentially go flying) and if it can avoid the mechanical issues of the previous version - and today seemed like a good start - it’s a home run for CP.

Has anyone noticed if there’s “Arms Down” audio that is played if people keep their arms up? I noticed there’s no initial audio telling guests to “Keep arms down, head back and hold on” but they would repeat “arms down” if someone wasn’t listening.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I specifically listened for it yesterday and did not hear it, but I also don’t recall seeing any instances of people putting their hands up prior to the launch.

Those who have ridden would be able to confirm, but I doubt there's any need for the warning, given the relatively low G's of TT2's initial launch compared to the original.

Right, the first launch in comparable to Mavericks Tunnel. Fun but it's not going to rip your shoulder out. A group on one of the trains I was on had their hands up and there was no warning or holdup with the launch.

Actually helps capacity a bit, since you don't have to wait an extra 10 seconds for everyone to get their arms down.

Joe E, your last sentence is interesting to me in the sense that I always felt that it was just some sort of an automatic announcement. In other words, not generated by an actual ride crew member observing riders with arms up. I say that because it seems to me there was always numerous people with arms up whenever I rode (me included) or when I walked past.

I remember watching the hands down button pusher at work the one day. Seemed like an uphill battle. I will probably have my hands down as I do on most coasters except when I reach the airtime hills. It’s too damn much work to keep them up an entire ride holding them up against the g forces I don’t know how people do it. All signed up and hope to go Tuesday.

I got an "arms down" message on one of my rides yesterday. It wasn't a stock audio file like it was with TTD, but rather a ride op manually telling riders to put their arms down.

One of my favorite early memories of Dragster is when the 'Arms down' button didn't have a delay timer programmed in before you could push it again. Someone decided to press the button multiple times so it would say 'Ar-ar-ar-ar-arms down!'

So that's what happened to the DJ's.

TT2 running great tonight. Operations are prime. And the ride is awesome. I’m impressed.

I haven't seen an official get in the park before "x" to get your ride on TT2 for the previews. I'll likely be arriving around 7/7:30

On X/Twitter Tony suggested arriving before 8PM.

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

Thank you....somehow I missed that tweet.

The replies on X/Twitter can be easy to miss.

We had been wondering about the same thing since we will be arriving later as well.

Twitter is a dumpster fire. I'm surprised it still works at all.

Rode TT2 tonight (Tuesday). Waited two hours in line. But that included two down times totaling 45 minutes. Awesome ride! Lockers were free tonight. Attendant said they will cost $2 starting Saturday.

Survived the ride. My observations of it:

  1. It made me feel really small being able to really take in the size of the top hat tower at a slower speed
  2. I noticed the side to side shaking more than I expected to
  3. The reverse launch was still a surprise when it kicked in even thought I knew it was
  4. Way more intense than I thought it would be.
  5. If both rides were in the park together I would choose this over TTD.
  6. coming out from under the queue roof to see the tower right there after waiting over an hour without seeing it is the first omg moment.
