1st August Trip

This was our first trip to Cedar Point and I have to say it did not disappoint. We're on holiday from England and made a stop in Sandusky to visit for a day.

Got dropped off about 9.45 and went to collect our Fast Lanes, which were well worth the money especially in the heat today. Top rides of today have to be Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, absolutely bricking it on both the first time.

I'd read reports that Maverick is a bit rough but was not expecting the beating we got on the first ride, discovered that leaning forward made the ride easier and enjoyed it much more then. Second and third and forth in the rough rides category go to Mean Streak, Corkscrew and Magnum XL-200 respectively but still enjoyed them and will wear the bruises proudly XD.

Only down side didn't realize that the park deletes on ride photos after an hour and got a nasty shock when we returned to Top Thrill Dragster at the end of the day to grab our first ride photo (We had been writing down the numbers all day) Thankfully with Fast Lane we were able to ride one more time though we had to stick the on ride photo from MF down the back of shirts, not a good plan on a hot day XD.

Had a brilliant day and hope to return one day.

Final Ride Count - 29 rides
4 Times
Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force

3 Times
Maverick

2 Times
Windseeker, Gemini, Sky Hawk, Raptor

Once
Wicked Twister, Giant Wheel, Max Air, Power Tower, Mean Streak, Super Himalaya, Magnum XL-200, Corkscrew, Mantis, Dodgems

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Quite a long trip from England to Sandusky!

Quite a fair way indeed. We've been road tripping out here for 3 weeks and Ohio wasn't too far out of the way. It was a great trip and hopefully one day I'll be able to come back.

Sounds like you had a good time. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in the US and have a safe trip back home.

That's a heckuva list for one day. I see you never made it over to Blue Streak...That's an oldie but goodie. I'm not an expert on the ride roughness strategies, but I do agree that leaning forward on Maverick helps. I also think that there are ideal places to sit on Magnum to avoid a thigh pounding on the way back. Anyone know anything to help on that one?

Glad you had a good day. Where else are you visiting on your road trip?

The front seat of any car.

GoBucks: Thanks ^_^

Bigmal: Would have liked to do Blue Streak, unfortunately decided to take the little sister on Mean Streak first and sat near the back, put her off wooden coasters for the rest of the day XD.

Krafty: Thanks. We started in Manhattan, then traveled through Connecticut and Rhode Island, did Cape Cod and then Boston, went through Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, went to Niagara Falls and spent some time in Canada, then went to Cedar Point, traveled down through Ohio and Pennsylvania into West Virginia and into Virginia and spent some time in Shenandoah National Park. Currently we're in Washington DC, then we're going to visit Boston and Philadelphia before flying home from Newark. It's been an epic trip ^_^.
