An open PLEA to CP Management (answers please?)

Ahhh, the sweet, sweet, taste of victory. Another case of good defeating evil, right trumping wrong, the righteous prevailing over the wicked, David defeating Goliath, etc...

Seriously, major thanks to Tony and Jason. Credit to CPfan1976 for raising the issue and other posters for helping the park see the error in their ways. Lets just hope this reopening and planning is done sooner rather than later.

Hey, now that this issue will be resolved soon, who's up for a 2014 rain check or refund thread since the park has set a precedent of issuing them for the entire park? Maybe Tony and Jason can help with that issue also.

Two words "ENTITLEMENT SOCIETY" !

Or as Jack will say "All work and no play make Jack bad boy."

I don't think it's entitlement to expect a bathroom in a restaurant.

I don't think the park ever denied the bathrooms were an issue....All you got from Tony is a confirmation that the problem was being resolved.

Tony is serious, if you tweet to Jason, he will tweet you back, I have dont it many times.

I must say, it is really swell that Tony and Jason will respond on Twitter. Does that mean we should just use Twitter rather than deal with the usual run around from guest services when we have compliments, questions, or complaints.

Twitter is quickly becoming an acceptable alternative to emailing/calling customer support or stuff like that.

Just look at the XBOX Support Twitter feed. They help everyone.

If you tweet Dan Gilbert about a seat issue at a Cavaliers game, he will send someone to check it out.

Twitter is the future.

This is what we were waiting to hear and until now nobody that I know of that has written or voiced their concern has heard this.
I want to personally thank Tony for taking time out of his schedule to respond to this thread and listen to our responses. I never had a doubt that management at CP cared, but this situation was out of the realm for what I'm used to at the park.
On a future note, can we please make sure facilities are up and running on any future sit-down spots BEFORE Opening Day or just delay the opening? (wink/wink) That would help. Looking forward to another 38 years...

Thanks from small bladders and unpredictable children everywhere...

Do you really think that this was just some mistake that the park overlooked? Seriously? If it were up to me, and the restrooms weren't ready but I had a new franchised location that could generate revenue, I would open it too and do my best to get the restrooms up later. I'm sure that's what they did.

If it's the volume of bitching and moaning that you do, I would likely ignore you.

Am I the only one who looked at Tony's exact wording "planning is literally underway," and wondered if that meant they are planning now and that the restrooms will be built/remodeled/whatever, during the offseason?

I just thought that was obvious. There was a functioning bathroom in the building last year. Someone thought it was a good idea to close it yet still keep it as a bar and sit down restaurant this year. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Obama or the kid washing the dishes in back so it's a safe bet someone in park management made the screwy decision.

In the mean time, I will just savor the victory and bask in the glow of knowing that I just may have played a small role in the righting of a grave injustice and for the benefit of others. :)

Quite frankly, that bathroom was a mess! At least the mens room was. Secondly, I would hardly call having to leave a restaurant at an amusement park to use the restroom a "grave injustice". If thats what you consider it, you may need to re-priortize your values.

Odd fact, Tony's Town Square at the Magic Kingdom has no functioning restroom! Walt Disney is spinning in his grave!!!!

You are really delusional about your place in the world.

The pay toilets are on back order - cut the installers some slack!

Question...as I cant seem to remember......

Do either the Red Garter Saloon or the Last Chance Saloon have guest restrooms? They both serve food, beer, and have seating.

Does anyone here think for a second that the complaints on PointBuzz lead to some big reversal of the park's decision?

Not to say that our opinions aren't valid or that parks completely disregard what's being said on popular forums, but I have a strong feeling the return of the restrooms was planned all along.

To answer your question with a question: Has CP lowered the price of food, installed a 600ft wooden Aqua Traxx or planted trees down the middle of the Midways?

Jeff's got it right here. The restaurant, aside from the bathrooms, was ready to go, and there are bathrooms nearby.

Inconvenient? Yep. What the park intended? Nope.

^ I like how you write that there are bathrooms "nearby," when in fact, there are not bathrooms nearby. That's like saying the bathroom in your neighbor's house 6 doors down is "nearby." 10 if you're a guy.

"...10 if you're a guy." How about the tree out back.

I would like to state for the record that our family LOVED Chickie & Pete's. We ate there 5x in 5 days, and longed to go even more. Yes, having to trek to the restrooms at the arcade or by Raptor was a mild inconvenience, but well worth it for their glorious crab fries and pizza. That cheese sauce of theirs was magical, as was the pizza - inside-out like Chicago style, but thin crust, and the red sauce was super tasty. We're from Indianapolis, and had never heard of this chain before, but will now look out for it during our many travels.

Cute story: after devouring everything the waitress put in front of us during one of our string of visits to C&Ps, she asked the standard question "How was everything?" Rather than state the obvious while she cleared away the plates we'd practically licked clean, we responded playfully: "Just awful. We want a refund." Apparently sarcasm wasn't this poor girl's forte, and we were shortly greeted by an apologetic manager offering retribution. Story ends with a hearty laugh had by all.

I personally can't wait to revisit C&P (and CP, duh!), and will happily tolerate a restroom stroll (and yes, I've got one of those wee ones with a small bladder) until the on-premise bathroom renovations are completed.
