Bon Aire section and other exterior changes to Hotel Breakers

There won't be any basic, less expensive rooms any more. They went out with the Bon-Air section.

Ok. I guess what I meant to ask was where are the rooms with 2 queen beds(no balcony or lake view) located? I thought maybe a specific section holds specific types of rooms. Sorry for the confusing comment.

Sometimes the lakeview rooms are cheaper when there's a code or a special offer. It all depends. That's what I saw last time I was looking for a suite.

Janeen, the rooms you are looking for, the non-lakeview, no balcony rooms are the rooms overlooking the park and the parking lot. They are the room windows you see on camera 3.

And here I always thought the better view was toward the park!

Yep, the 2 queen rooms overlook the Park itself from the Breakers tower. We always ask for Park view rooms when staying at Breakers, kids love the lights and night and also seeing the rides running in the morning before we head out. I have also always loved the park at night... always been a sucker for cool lighting and the new LED's they've been installing look great.

Awesome because I like the park view also! Thanks for the info!

Looks like the parking lot in front (?) of the hotel is getting landscaping today. Trees and shrubs at this point. This excites me as the landscaping is generally one of the last phases of a project.

Then, all they really need to do after that is repave the parking lot.

There has been so much heavy equipment and traffic, I bet that will be the most daunting task. Maybe even new concrete in some areas because it looks pretty ragged. I'm very happy to see landscaping going in also. May 8th can't arrive soon enough!

They are prepping for paving in the area around the new Breakers sign. Just a guess, it may be pavers as a worker is using a walk behind compactor.

That backhoe is spreading down some finer material around the sign. Looks like it could be sand. If anyone knows anything about construction and paving, correct me on that.

I am wondering what the circular shaped concrete area behind Breakers East is going to be? Looks like a patio or fire pit type thing (maybe a fountain?) with the center not being concrete. I don't remember seeing that in any of the pre-construction artwork.

Looks to be some type of entryway decoration. Probably either a fountain or just a planter to welcome whoever will be coming into those doors there. I could see an informational sign being placed there to direct guests around the resort.

Now it looks like they poured a path leading to that circular thing. Looks like it might be a curb or a sidewalk, it's hard to see with it getting dark.

Does anyone know if the Rotunda will open on opening day, because the Rotunda Hotel rooms cannot be booked until the middle of June?

Is there any logical reason why the rotunda couldn't be finished before the rooms?

I certainly hope the Rotunda is completed by opening day. Isn't that one of the major projects for the hotel? It also appears to be a gateway to other ares of hotel, so I would think it will be.I don't think they want un-happy guests not getting their Starbucks. The lounge area is the only thing I see maybe not being @100% by 5/9(or 5/8).

Seems like they have been working nearly non-stop at Breakers so I'd say they are doing everything they can to make sure it is completed by opening day. Renovating a structure as old as some sections of Breakers are is bound to give some surprises and unexpected delays along the way. We will be there for Platinum Pass preview night, and while I will be slightly disappointed if large areas are not yet completed - I think seeing what has been completed will more than make up for it

Looks like they are pouring concrete in the driveway and where the new sign will be.
