Bon Aire section and other exterior changes to Hotel Breakers

So now that the upper part of the hotel has been uncloaked, are we seeing two new elevator shafts that go top to bottom?

Yes. those are the new ones installed for the Rotunda area.

Is one of them a Wonkavator?

This reference deserves to be quoted just to acknowledge the coolness.

And you're fond of quoting the post directly above anyway, so good job.

I was going to wait a month and necro the thread to quote it, but I thought I'd help facilitate the vast range of OCDs that exist on this site.

I now await Jeff to comment about how anybody could logically surmise I like to quote from the post immediately above because I quote posts I am responding two which are often immediately above, and for others to say it is a sure sign of a new dark ride being build where phantom footers were sighted on the webcam.

Um, it's not "OCD", (whatever that means relative to the question at hand), it's just there's no reason to quote a post so close to your own.

We're pretty smart. We can follow along. Plus you can save Jeff money by simply responding or commenting on the post above yours without quoting.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

It's nice seeing some green space being introduced the the front area of the hotel.

They are spreading mulch today. The landscaping is coming along nicely.

I am loving the attention to detail. I can't wait to see it in person. the greenery looks really good so far and we don't even have a good angle and spring hasn't fully sprung yet!! i was just wondering if some confusing hall ways will be re routed. sense they gutted parts of the building i wonder if some of the cramped confusing halls leading to the towers from the lobby will be expanded and rerouted. I'm exciteed to see!!!

argues just for clicks

I think some of you will be happy to know that they planted some new trees along the driveway in the landscaping process.

I don't know if you're aware, but the rest of us can see the live feed also.

Yes, I'm aware but since there were recent posts about trees being removed, I thought they would be happy to see new ones planted.

And what are those wedge shaped things the workers keep carrying and are laying over by the East parking lot?

^^ Wouldn't not replying seem to have been more sufficient than the douchey answer you gave? But what do I know...

I'm not sure what wedge things you're talking about Thabto since I'm just now seeing the webcam. But what I have been noticing is the amount of propane tanks sitting in the parking lot. It's just interesting to see how many are needed for a hotel the size of Breakers.

I think one of the workers dropped a Big Mac wrapper on cam. I just thought you all should know.

Impossible! Big Macs come in boxes, not wrappers! ;)

I think one of the trees that was just planted now got removed.

What is the protrusion at the end of the twins section? Is it a fireplace chimney or just an exhaust vent disguised as one?

Thabto's avatar

Elevator shafts

I'm not talking about the elevators on the rotunda. This still has scaffolding around it and looks too small for an elevator.

If you look at the circular concrete adjacent to Breakers East, look just to the left in the corner of the roofline.
