CoasterMania 2014 Update

It's right by RipCord/Challenge Park. :)

More specifically, it's by the smoking area/benches at the front of the Soak City lot.

This will be our first event, can't wait! Can anyone share where the lunch is held and what type of food is offered, thanks!

Dragster has been shut down the past 3 days :(
Hoping it will be up and running for CoasterMania tomorrow!

Per the info page, it's at Point Pavilion. That's a catered picnic-style area within the park. It's just past the front gate between Jack Aldrich Theater and Sneak Peeks souvenir photo shop.

Lunch is typically things like fried chicken, hot dogs, brats, pasta, potato salad, and other things that escape me. Also fountain Coca-Cola products, chocolate chip cookies, and Toft's ice cream cups.

Come on, Dragster! We missed her last trip due to some downtime. :(

I always park in the Soak City lot whenever I visit the park. I really don't like parking in the main lot. Do you all think I can still park in Soak City for Coaster Mania?

I park back there too all the time, do what I am doing, park in the front for registration, enjoy the early ERT then move your car after the early ERT to the back lot.

Or park there and take the shuttle. I'm moving my car to the soak city lot later after morning ERT.

Will they let you on the shuttle even if you're not a resort guest?

Yes, the shuttles are open to anyone.

Or you could park in the Soak City lot and get some exercise by walking along the beach to the front gate. That should satisfy your exercise needs for 1 year or so :)

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

Can you get from the beach up to the front gate? That was my thought but I forgot if there was any fencing keeping you from doing that.

What if I register FIRST and then move my car to the back lot...oh, wait...I think they said only the front gate entrance will be open. I better park in the back lot upon arrival and take the shuttle back to the main entrance.

Yes, only the front gate should be manned and unlocked. You could move your car after morning ERT if you were so inclined..

Well, I just walked the whole way from lighthouse point to the front gate and back, and talked to several employees. I can tell you that nobody knows anything about coastermania, except that it's tomorrow. Does it start at 6 or 7, who knows? And does each person need to be present for registration and the boat ticket, who knows?

This is being very, very poorly communicated down to the folks who actually interface with people. It's frustrating, as I'm trying to figure out if I need to get my young children up early and drag them to the front gate, or if I can go with their passes and cc membership cards and get them registered.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful to CP for putting this on, when in fact I appreciate it very much. It's just frustrating early in the season because nobody ever has any clue what they are doing... And don't seem to care to find out, either

I repeat. Shuttle service starts at 6 AM which is likely when the lot will open up. 7 AM is when registration begins.

Everyone needs to be present with membership card and ID until told otherwise.

Nobody knows because you're asking seasonals who simply know where to show up and when. Check with marketing... Tony surely has more answers than you have questions.

Jeez.

Don't "jeez" me. First of all, didn't ask you. I asked people who should know. And if they don't know (which they didn't) they should make an effort to find out. Not just say "dunno". These are pretty low expectations from any employee and yet they fail even this simple test.

Jeez.

Who are YOU to determine who should know what? lol... It sounds like you asked random employees who have no reason to know and who wouldn't know whom to ask.

I am a customer. I don't expect anyone to know everything. But they should show a willingness to help, whether that be to ask a coworker or pick up the phone and figure out who knows. Especially in a place called "guest services".

Calm down everyone, it's Coastermania tomorrow!!

JEEZ!!!!
