Groovy??? I like millie and ttd

Wicked Twister is the child of Mean Streak and Gemini. Get it?

I would have to have to put it in this order for my top 7. Of course this assumes that all the lights are functioning properly (which they aren't)

  1. Milli-not all lights are cycling correctly. There are several under each tower that are supposed to cycle together. They don't always change together.
  2. Power Tower-Same problem as MF. Same light package I believe. The lower section and upper arched sections are supposed to cycle together on the same color. Last year only the top section cycled and 1 of them would become off sync occasionally.
  3. Mean Streak-Love how they underlighted the structure.
  4. Blue Streak-Always a classic with the best chaser lights in the park
  5. TTD-Spot beams into the sky were the best
  6. Raptor-Strobes on the Cobra Roll
  7. Magnum-Now defunct fog and strobes in the tunnel as well as on the lift hill.

I don't believe Magnum's fog in the tunnels is gone, but more like just randomly comes on now and again.

Millennium Force and Power Tower both use intelligent lights. They're programmed by giving each instrument its own "IP address," so to speak, and then assigning what each instrument does at any given moment in time. Have an instrument with the wrong IP address (ie: changed by a lightning storm, power outage, etc...), or a gel scroll out of position will automatically mess this up. Often times the only way to fix this problem is to go directly to the instrument and set the IP address or fix the color wheel. On Millennium, this wouldn't be a huge issue because the instruments are close to the ground, but I know I wouldn't want to be the one who has to crawl to the top of Power Tower to correct the instruments that are up there. Breaks in the data lines between instruments will also cause problems.

Power Tower and Millennium Force do not use the same lighting system. I don't remember what Power Tower is using, though for some reason I recall them using Vari-Lites even though I'm not sure they've ever done architectural ligthing. Millennium Force uses High End Systems fixtures in weatherproof housings. The interals of the light were the same as the other fixtures they sold at the time, in particular the Cyberlights (which I think they have/had in the station) and also in the Studio Colors in the domes on the Summer Sucktacular. I saw a demo of those that year at IAAPA when HES exhibited that year, and I thought it was brilliant that you could learn to fix one and know them all.

Other interesting fact is that apparently the rubber seals on those were not cured right or something, so they'd vaporize and the vapor would condense on the lenses, dimming the lights that first year. I remember a big thread here that people were accusing them of trying to save power and dimming them (see, conspiracy theories are nothing new here). Good times.

Millie and TTD..

And even though i know GiantWheel is not a coaster i love those lights at night!

Mean Streak by far, the lights making all the wood look golden, and at night it just looks more massive then it does in the day.

^...Too bad the ride sucks =/

Millie at night by far has the best lights or light show if you wanna call it that.
