I heard people talking about CP in my neighborhood and they were very convinced that the oh thing keeping dragster on the back are the fins that slow the train down on a roll back. I tried explaining that they popped up after the train launched but they kept asking how else the train would know where to go. Needless to say. They have only been to CP a handful of times.

Favorite one in line for mean streak "a long long time ago in a far away no longer existing place" two teeny boppers in line talking behind me first about how they want to be like Lindsay Lohan (not going there) but then about cooking and the both had no idea how to cook anything exact quote "I wouldn't even know how long to Microwave a Hot Dog"

A couple days ago, I was waiting in line for Diamondback at Kings Island, and I overheard a couple guys ask each other how fast Diamondback goes. I'm guessing the one that answered was younger, but either way his answer was, Oh Diamondback goes 180 mph. I just started laughing inside.

Holy zombie thread, batman.

When I went last month, I was in line for Millennium, and I overheard these 2 girls who couldn't have been older than 10 talking about how high each of the coasters went. One of them said that Dragster was 700 feet high and went 300 mph. The other one thought Dragster was 950 feet high and went 400 mph. They got into a heated argument about that. I tried everything in my power not to laugh.

Overheard in line for Raptor last year-

"Look, you can't bring cats on this ride."
"It says casts."
"Oh. ... You probably shouldn't bring cats, either."

Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.

^ Humans only. :P

OK, so while waiting in line for the big round raft thingy at Soak City one of my family members asks me if I'm going to get my last rides in on Blue Streak this year because they read that it's going to be demilished at the end of the season. She's going to send me the link to whatever it was she read if she can find it again because I told her it's likely just somebody making it up just like the whole Magnum is sinking thing which she had actually never heard of.

I was waiting in line for Lake Erie Eagles with a mom and her about 8 year old son and the boy wanted to go on some other rides but the mom said they couldn't because it would be going out of order and the boy threw a tantrum and the mom told him that she didn't make the rules and to stop crying. Anybody else hear about this rule about having to ride rides in order? :)

I don't know If this qualifies as crazy things you hear, but It's something similar. I just didn't feel like creating a new topic. You ever just over hear people talking about Cedar Point and all you want to do is jump in on it? I know I do at times.

Yes, I feel like that sometimes, but I don't do it.

My favorite was actually from a ride op. You CP "veterans" have probably heard it 100 times.

Gemini Ride Op in 2013: "You are about to ride the tallest, the fastest, the steepest roller coaster ever built.......in 1978."

I was probably the only one in the station laughing my head off, but it was funny to me!

I also like to see the peoples faces on Mean Streak when they say, "Mean Streak will take you up side down not once, not twice, but.. no times at all.

They said the same thing at Millennium on Tuesday and we were all very confused at first :)

Another good one I've heard, it was Maverick opening day, I don't remember the exact height they said, but it was something like "We're gonna take you up 705 feet... Above sea level"

This wasn't in line, but on the midway near Top Thrill Dragster...

During the trip I took with my school on May 18, 2012, one of the guys I was hanging out with told me that TTD's trains were equipped with motorized wheels because the launch system by itself wasn't powerful enough to let the train crest the hill. His explanation for the rollbacks? Sometimes the motors failed.

OH I got one, I got one, I heard it today...

"Yeah, you stand up on that ride." :-)

I was asked on one of my past visits If Wicked Twister went upside down. I just went along with it and said yes, you should hold on tight. Lol

^ ugh I used to get asked that so much. If you watch the entire cycle from the queues, it doesn't take an enthusiast to figure out it doesn't go upside down.
