Employee Housing at Hotel Breakers

This will be my first year at CP. I will actually be working at Sandcastle Suites, but am on the list for housing in Hotel Breakers. Looking for some more detailed info:

  1. Size of room
  2. Is there AC
  3. Is there TV
  4. Is there WIFI
  5. Should I bring my laptop (is there a place to lock it up)
  6. Where do you most generally eat?
  7. Anything of significance that I should bring other than bedding and personal care items?

Also, is anyone looking for a roommate at Hotel Breakers? I am a 20 year old male, and looking for roommates that are generally clean (not a neat freak per se, just not a total slob either). Love hanging with friends, music (mostly rap), movies, and looking forward to hitting the park during downtime (although I am reading that this may be rare).

Hoping this turns out to be a great summer full of working, earning, and fun!

Roomie, unless things have changed, I hope this helps.

1. The rooms are small--about the size of a closet. Most have 3 beds to a room.

2. A/C? are you kidding, the building is over 100 years old. If you are lucky enough to live in the Twin Section I believe the rooms do have A/C. The rotunda rooms do not have A/C. Bring fans the 4th an 5th floors get very hot.

3. I believe the Twin Section rooms do have TV. Otherwise bring your own TV.

4. I'm pretty sure the hotel has wifi especially in the rotunda.

5.There is no place to lockup a laptop or anything. The closet is a bar hanging on the wall and a dresser or two.

6. Generally you will eat in the Employee Cafeteria. No cooking in the rooms.

7. Bring your sense of humor. If you are staying in the hotel you will need it. As for music: the hotel managment DEMANDS you be quiet at all times. Bring your ear buds or headset. Oh yes, and the bathrooms in the rotunda are down the hall and the hall is open to the floors below. Avantage of staying in the hotel? You can sleep late.

Thank you... this info helps! Your advice is to bring a sense of humor...please elaborate...I have the feeling you may have a story or two to tell.

Who do you contact to see about staying at employee housing at hotel Breakers?

To live in Hotel Breakers you have to work in the hotels. Ask your manager.

Roomie, I do have a story or two to tell. But I will not tell them on the internet, things can come back to "bite you." Just remember you are also living where you work. Your boss is also your "landlord." At times it seems like you have no privacy---but you can still have a fun summer.
