Interested in meeting other ride hosts/employees for the '10 season

Okay, well thanks for the feedback.

And macho nachos just sound like something begging to give you a stomach ache.

Bah, Macho Nachos are for people who are asking for trouble. blechhhh. It makes the whole place smell like nasty. And no Seth it was NOT amazing when they had them 2 days in a row, it meant they didn't sell it all the first day and so they brought 'em back for round two. Kind of like when they sold 4 for $1 hot dogs the entire week after Big Bash...ew. The grilled cheese and fries, however, were the greatest lunch ever!

Seth I agree, Macho Navhos two days in a row = A M A Z I N G!!! But noone had to work with Chrispy and Macho Nachos like I did, he was the only reason I dreaded Macho Nacho day cuz I always happened to be the one behind him in rotation for controls, it was horrid! Lol but I do love me some Macho Nachos!! Yummmm!!

As far as eating after work, do you just head to the nearest fast food joint?

2010: Magnum XL-200 Ride Host

McDonalds right by the point even though it is always super busy or Buffalo Wild Wings, since they're open til 2am. lol. That's what we did. I know Steak and Shake, Qdoba, Taco Bell, Burger King, and some other options are there too, but those are the main ones.

Feel free to add me on Facebook, guys! Seth Vangilder

For sure, I basically lived off of BW3's this summer, haha seems like we were there at least twice a week. That and Burger King and if I was hanging out with my fav Raptor crew we were at McDonald's =) Oh, towards the end of the season we ate at Outback steakhouse a lot...and Steak and Shake.

2009: Wicked Twister

I feel like we actually went to burger king most of the time... especially when they had the transformers game! cause then I could just buy a value meal at the beginning of the week and live off the game peices for the rest of the week.

Kevin, you would. lol. I guess I just rememebr McDonald's bc Doug LOVED it! and we would eat at B'Dubs for everyone's last nights..lol

GAH! Don't even talk about that. Seth, everyone was an emotional train wreck at your last day Bdubs dinner. Everyone else crying made me want to cry.

The cafeteria typically has a decent variety of food, but all of it is pretty "meh" as far as price and quality goes. There's a few winners here and there, but for the most part is just exists to keep you nourished.

Absolutely not. Don't wanna get caught during a pocket check. You have to put it away in your locker with your other belongings while working.

Pocket checks? Seriously? I'm glad I worked in a department that was far less anal about things.

... Doug and his McDonalds hahahah

They didnt want people texting while in position, and if your phone goes off in your phone, what do you want to do? Look at it and text back, so they wern't allowed in your pocket. One ride had a cell phone box for everyones phones when they arrived in the morning, when you left/went on break, you grabbed it.

I am suddenly craving a late night McDonald's trip. Was Doug the reason McDonald's was a like 5 time a week experience? Gah, I got so sick of it, Burger King was worse though.

Are these places being mentioned within walking distance to the off point housing?

That's perfectly understandable, but I guess it would be too much for them to just expect adults to act like adults? Someone breaks the rules, they should be individually disciplined for it. I've always had issues with systems that punish everyone for the abuses of a few.

I agree. Every other job I have had, it was more of just if they saw you, they would punish you. Don't get me wrong, I understand that we are running very complex machines and that we should keep 100% attention for safety reasons, but I personally like to keep my phone with me for various reasons and I don't see what is wrong with just keeping it in your pocket if you don't check it.

I heard there was a ride where they all had to put cell phones in a bin at the beginning of their shift, but sometimes supervisors did pocket checks. That only happened if they were catching wind of people on their cell phones. Most people leave their phone in there pocket, but if you are caught texting it's an automatic 2 steps.

That sounds fair to me. What do you mean by two steps?
