Maverick Pond

I really wish the pond would look more cleaner, and have less garbage.

That's not the point of this topic, though. I just wanted to share that I think a WWL Canoe should be in the pond. I think it'd look really great for the theme/landscape and historical value of WWL.

That way people have something else to fill with garbage in that pond?

Seriously, think about how much trash was in there this summer, then think of the game some idiots would make of it to "score a basket" by getting it in the canoe?

Give it a week and it would look terrible. It really makes me mad how people are so disrespectful with garbage at the park. There is actually wildlife in that pond (snakes, frogs, fish, etc...) and there were days it looked like a landfill.

People lose their minds when they go to amusement parks... or maybe they lost it long ago.

You make the big assumption they actually had one to lose in the first place. Many of Cedar Points guests prove that stupid is a genetic trait.

Especially when you consider that it was cleaned out every night...

Who knew this could happen, but I think they need to place a couple more trash cans on that part of the queue?

That pond is cleaned every night, but I think a fountain would help the situation by getting the water to move a little. I noticed over the season that the pond underneath the horseshoe roll look horrible until they got the small fountain working.

They have a small pump in the corner over by the station, but that's it, and it doesn't do much to help move the water around.

As for guests and their (lack thereof) brains, they leave them at home, if they had one to begin with. Honestly, how else do you explain someone looking over their shoulder, seeing a car heading towards them as they walk down the middle of a lane, and they turn around and keep on walking, even after said car has come to a complete stop and honks their horn. Sad thing is, this happened day in and day out.

I lost faith last summer in the idea that more than 50% of the people on our planet actually have brains.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

^As much as I have to agree. At the same time, I feel that the few that seem to have no brain over power the thousands that do.

A ride operator has a pretty straight forward routine and when one person screws it all up every 30 minutes or so, it feels like everyone doesn't do it right.

This is basically a thank you to all those who go unnoticed when they DON'T line jump, DON'T stand on the yellow line, DON'T push on the gates, DON'T go to the wrong row of seats, DON'T try to sneak loose articles on the ride, and DON'T push the lapbar down before fastening their seatbelt. (the list goes on and on) Thank you, thank you for knowing how to figure out the simplest of instructions and making every ride host stay positive during those 90+ degree days with 100% humidity in July.

In a way I would also like thank some of those who don't seem to have any brains for keeping us all in check and having a funny story or two to tell later on in the day. :)

Also could we lose the blue goo in the queue line pond? It makes the water look disgusting with or without trash in it. Why cant CP just not dye the pond?

Why not put the canoe in the Swan Pond instead of the one in line. Get it far enough away from the Water Cannons though.

Let's Get Weird.

Does anyone else think that a random log flume boat sitting in the middle of any pond would be a little strange?

I think it would be cool, but that's because I know what it is/was. Most people probably wouldn't. They would see a random canoe floating.

I think that would look pretty weird too. In fact I think it would look pretty silly, like CP just let it float out there and didn't even bother to bring it back in. I like the nostalgia of WWL, it's a ride I'll always miss. But floating an abandoned canoe is silly, if not creepy.

People with previously mentioned "brains left at home" would probably start asking sweeps and other employees where the "canoe ride" is...

To be honest, a half sunken canoe with a couple skeletons in it would look pretty cool for Halloweekends though.

what ever happened to the fountain they were going to put in the pond by the inversions before the tunnel?

Josh, people asked me that almost every day last year.

There was/is a fountain in the pond near the twisted horseshoe roll if thats what you are talking about... you can see it in this picture.

Canoe could be weird, since it'd be a little random, and not everyone knows of WWL.

How do you explain the random caboose?
