Maverick Trains

What do you think the trains will be like? I think they will be something like this:

I think they will be made by Intamin. Other than that, it's up for speculation until it is announced.

I hope it's not over the shoulder. We have all became used to the lapbar design Cedar Point likes to use on their taller coasters such as Magnum, Millennium Force, Gemini, and Top Thrill Dragster.

Its going upside-down, unlike Magnum, Millennium Force, Gemini and Top Thrill Dragster.

Although OTS is not absolute when inversions are involved, it makes the likelyhood of OTS much more great.

The OTS on Storm Runner are super comfortable, so I wouldn't be dissapointed at all if that's what it has.

I like OTSR on some coasters.

Bow down, Bow down before the power of Santa, or be crushed, be crushed by----- his Jolly boots of Doom.

Coming Soon! Star Wars episode 7- The Fallen Hero
episode 8- The Republic in Crisis
episode 9- Victory of the Force

OTSR also will alow bigger people to ride the coaster. Intiman sitdown OTSR have a lot of room. if you haven't ridden Storm Runner or Kingda Ka or any other Intiman sitdown with OTSR then you will be suprised by them.

Yeah I'm sure they're the same as Stormrunner or Kingda Ka.

I like the idea of over the shoulder restraints primairly for the reason that they will be more accomodating than Intamin's lap bar design. Are there any Intamin coasters out there that go upside down with just a lap bar? I can't imagine there would be considering they've put over the shoulders on some non-looping coasters like Ka.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Although I haven't been on any Intamin coasters with OSTRs, I've heard many great things about the restraints on Ka and Storm Runner (they also look quite comfortable) so I wouldn't mind them at all. As long as the coaster doesn't have a lot of headbanging, which I highly doubt, I think they will be fine.

Am I the only person on earth that hates the OTSR on StormRunner? Both times I rode it, they gave me...like a rug burn of sorts, on my shoulder. It took away from the enjoyability of the ride. So I for one, hope that Project 2007 are nothing like that.

I don't like the Intamin OTSR's at all! They don't conform to the body and I always get my neck banged up when I ride Storm Runner. I also watched a small child slip out and back into the restraint, which worries me. I don't think they are safe for smaller people after seeing that. Any ride with this type of restraint is pretty much a one time ride and I am done.

They are most definitely safe. The restraint is essentially a large lap bar for smaller people and the shoulder restraint doesn't even touch most. As you can see with Kingda Ka's restraint, you are not going to fall out anywhere. Here is the picture: http://www.amusementpics.com/KK/051705-212.jpg

I would love the OTSR, just so I can have an opportunity to ride. I am probably crazy by saying this, but riding the inversion rides that have the lap bars and the foot restraints always make me uncomfortable. I have gotten two charlie horses from similar restraints, and that is the worst feeling in the world while riding.

Knowing about the first- and second-hand frustration with Intamin seatbelts at Cedar Point (MF and TTD), an OTSR train sounds like a good idea. In fact, I tried out the restraints for Storm Runner at Hersheypark and still had room left over. (Unfortunately I didn't ride as it was raining all that day in '04).

MOO!!!

The ride will need OTSR since it has a 95 degree drop

I've never been to Cedar Point, but I hear it's nothing special.
Top 5 coasters: 1. Millenium Force 2.(tie) Dragster/Maverick 3. Shiekra 4. Alpengeist 5. Shivering Timbers

Shhh. Enough of that now.
