MiA to get Thunderhawk

I don't know why they didn't put the money into a conveyor, that would have made a lot more sense.

That was my only complaint about MiA when I last went a couple years ago. For how safety conscious CF is, kids carrying those large tubes up stairs and ramps is dangerous. Especially since everyone is barefoot on concrete.

I know Soak City has conveyors on a couple of their slides, does WWK have them on their slides?

Wild Water Kingdom at Geauga Lake has one on their version of Funnel of Fear. That is the only on at Geauga Lake. At Kings Island they had one on their version of Funnel of Fear also and on their version of Mammoth River

I live about 45 minutes away, and made it once this year, on closing day. We stayed for about 3 hours and were done.

Just a guess here, but you didn't do the water park? Much like Geauga Lake, that seems to be their biggest draw.

The WP closes at Labor Day, so we didn't do it.

And yes, the water park is definitely the biggest draw.

I have only riden TH once, back when it was "serial killer" and didn't like it. Hopefully tearing it down and rebuilding it will help smooth out the rough edges (yeah right). I don't think my ears had ever been so red after riding a ride than they did after I got off of that one.

Obviously you didn't ride KIs Flight of Fear before the OHRs were removed. Those were KILLERS! :(

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

It's about time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jo,

When I went to KI years ago, Flight of Fear was down mechanical :(

I just hope this works out well for MI Adv and they don't have many problems with this ride.

If anyone is interested, today 10/10/2007, around 4:40pm while I was traveling south on Route 23 about 3 miles into Michigan

I believe I saw a piece of Thunderhawk track heading to Michigan Adventure.

It was definately Vekoma Track, 1 piece on a Flat bed Semi. Yellow/Orange paint. Heading North on 23.

The paint was definately worn out.

Sorry No Pictures, I was driving at 70mph in the opposite direction..

Is 23 North the road you would take to get to Michigan Adventure?

Hope the information interest you...

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Well, its one of MANY roads to get there, but also the one I take when going from Grand Rapids to CP. I take, M-6 to I-96, to US-23 to I-80. It sounds like this is the way they are going to MiAdv. Just take I-96 all the way to US-31 and go north to the Russel Road exit.

23 to 96 is one way a person could go to MA. It was most likely TH track.

Not like wasting anytime on moving the rides out...

Easier to transport several thousand pound pieces of coaster before Michigan snow start to fly and the roads become icy. (If there is going to be snow this year)

I just drove past the park on Monday and there wasn't any track. They must have just started moving it. I will have to get back over there soon to see if I can see anything. I live about 30 minutes north of Michigan's Adventure so it is right on my way to Muskegon where I do all of my shopping at Wal-Mart Supercenter and Meijer.

Weren't photos posted showing the track at the park a few days ago?

Well, he also posted that a week ago. So track may have shown up since then.

Goodbye MrScott

John

I will be up at my dads place this weekend (bout 5 min from MiA) this weekend, I will take my camera and snap some pics if I see track.

R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!

Track has been back in the employee lot all week.

I think it is unfair that MiA is never considered for a coaster unless another park closes.

I have to say though I did ask myself these questions at CP.

Why have a park by CP such as GL?

I am interested to see what Hunderhawk does for attendance.

Jason Hammond's avatar

^What are you talking about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first recycled coaster to turn up at Michigan's Adventure.

And it's Thunderhawk. not Hunderhawk.
