MiA to get Thunderhawk

I have heard that MiA would never get a coaster such as this if it wasn't for the closing of GL.

CF wouldn't go out to have a ride like this built for MiA in other words. This just "happened to fit"

How exactly do you know that MIA wloudnt have recived any coaster except recycled ones. Were you at the meeting when this choice was made.. I think not. yea its sad that its from a park that is well no more (rest in peace GL) but if i was CF I wloudnt let a coaster that could be put to good use just set in an empty feild rusting(sp*) away.

I agree its about time Mia got another thrilling coaster. Speaking of Thrillers, I wish they would change the name back to Serial Thriller. I just think its a more origional name. How many "Hawk" coasters does Cedar Fair really need? Just my opinion however...

R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!

I think they have 4 diffrent rides with "hawk" in them,

Thunderhawk - MIA

Thunderhawk(wooden coaster) - Dorney

Firehawk - Kings Island

Skyhawk - Cedar point

I think thats it.

Didn't they change the name because of licensing agreements? There were rides that got their name changed and rides that didn't. Anything Six Flags, DC and Loony Toons licensed names were changed. Any other licensing agreement i forgot?

I don't think they would have changed a name if they didn't have too, that costs money.

And Thunderhawk (Top Spin) - Worlds of Fun

^^ Serial Thriller was from before six flags, I believe. I don't understand why they changed it, that was a better name. And a Much better paint job. The blue and red looked cool. It's current colors are pretty nasty.

I don't get it why MIA,Dorney park & KI get construction updates on their pages(even when there's nothing really going on construction wise) while CW & KD do not....not even so much as a logo or rendering has shown up for Dominator on the KD site just a press release.

Each park has their own marketing department. Dorney and CP have blogs, but to the best of my knowledge none of the other parks in the chain do. I would say to a certain extent, it's up to each park to handle their website. If you want to know why, e-mail the park. As much as we hate to admit it, enthusiasts don't have all the awnsers.

Actually, Dorney Park doesn't have a blog...or not that I know of. But Worlds of Fun does.

take a look at this other rumor, but lets all cross our fingers,
im talking about time warp a double armed chance inverter from geauga lake as well

2009 - Time Warp - Rumor - (11/5/07) Scream scape has heard to keep our eyes peeled for pieces of Geauga Lake’s Time Warp (Chance Inverter) to show up after they’ve done shipping in Thunderhawk. Time Warp could be added to the midway area in 2009.

The only thing I'll cross my fingers about, is for hoping that whereever it goes, it gets enough ridership to run both arms again.

That ride almost broke my arm at SF New England. Worst restraint design ever!!

I think it would go nicely at KI.. they could use a good flat down there, and I think a lot of people would really enjoy it.

New photos posted on the web site today. From the looks of it, they are filling in part of the pond to make land for TH. I hope that it still goes out over the water for at least part of the ride. That adds a lot of excitement.

look below the november 1st pic's !

Is the track for TH yellow? I saw an open flatbed semi heading west on SR 2 in Ottawa County with a yellow piece of coaster track. At least that is what it looked like to me. I assumed it was FH on its way to MiA.

OOOPS! I'm sorry, I didn't see your photo link tbonetaker. DAH!! :) Well, that answers my question. It was TH track that I saw yesterday. Cool...:)

i called michigan's adventure today, and asked them if thay were
filling in the lake, i know a dumb question, but i was told that the
dirt is temporary while thay drill to make the concrete fillers and pillars into the lake, the coasters highest poits and best inversions will be totally over water, i talked to a lady named chamile, i than asked her if she knew which way the station would be facing and she said on the land part facing adventure falls and the grand rapids !
