CPGuru, thank you for putting the time in to make a visual. That looks awesome!

The Challenge Park miniature golf course will be removed.

Thank you for confirming that Walt. You're Awesome!

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the water park looks like for 2017. I typically just stay on the ride side most of the time, even at Kings Island when I go there I stay on the ride side, but still I'm glad they're spreading the love to Cedar Point Shores.

I'm a bit disappointed that they're changing the name Breakers Express. I liked that name, but then again the new name is catchy too. Maybe they're doing this because some people get confused.

GOCC posted a map of the updated water park on Facebook. Notice where the new CP admissions gate is, and what appears to be a demolished Magnum photo building.

I'm curious as to how the preferred parking will work in the CP Shores lot. Will you just be able to purchase Preferred at the toll booth and freely go to either the main lot or back lot?

I'd imagine. The checkpoints are at the parking lots, so once you pay and get your tag they shouldn't care where you go.

I took a look at the photo, and what I've gathered is that the new slides will go in the go kart space, the new hotel parking will go in the Challenge Golf space and they will move the Magnum gate over toward Magnum. And a new footpath will take you between CP and Shores. I hope that an actual original photo will be uploaded at some point. It's kind of hard to tell from a photo of it.

Ripcord appears to be gone in that map. Replaced with additional parking.

Looks like Bubbles is staying in addition to the new bar.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Our family's designated meeting spot (if kids get lost or separated) as actually been the Magnum picture building for years. Guess we need to pick something else :-D

Are they getting rid of Magnum photos? I get my photos all the time with my FunPix pass, maybe they will just relocate it.

It appears so though the photo booth will be attached to the entry gate.

It also appears that there will only be one water park entrance. Or is there one to the right of Magnum near the bath houses?

I hope that map is accurate, since it was so close to my prediction. ;-)

I'm surprised the proposed admission gate takes up so much of the Magnum exit plaza. Regardless, I hope they re-route the Magnum exit to exit on the main midway, in front of the station. More logical, and closer to the entrance for re-rides. A bit of a why didn't they do it that way to begin with kind of thing. There would be plenty of room for ride photo booth inside the final turn into the brake run. Or possibly tucked in underneath and immediately in front of station, if they want to make it into an exit through the gift shop.

Hoping that the lazy river by the wave pool goes within the next few years. I was in it this year and it's kinda gross (bottom felt slimy), slow and boring. Looking at that map it would be a sizable location for future expansion.

You'd like to think they'll touch everything up.

I'm very glad to see a revamped bathhouse. The men's changing area has (if I'm recalling correctly) a total of two shower heads, which I've never seen in use. If there's a whole row of them, perhaps they'll get slightly more use?

The new food choices excite me the most; it's nice to see waterpark food becoming more than an afterthought. Assuming it's on the dining plan, it may be a hard choice to pick two meals between Frontier Inn, Chuck Wagon & Crystal Rock Cafe.

As for the new-for-2017 WhiteWater West slide complex? I'll probably do it once. With the new name and expansion, hopefully they'll continue to add attractions in the seasons to come.

The plans look great. I love that they're moving the gate toward Magnum (although I will miss that tree-covered approach to the existing gate). That gives the entrance a pretty dramatic touch.

No, the Magnum exit is staying where it is, according to the plans. The exit will dump you out just to the east of the new gate.

Regarding putting exits close to the entrance, look at the last several rides they've installed. In pretty much every case the exit is placed as far away as is practical. I suspect this is no accident.

Anyone who made it to the Pass holder event last night what were the exclusive deals for 2017 passes? I thought about going but after getting off work my son and I decided against it.

Took the family last night. It was crazy to say the least, but all in all well worth it. Once you got in you were to pick up a numbered beach ball, which you could later turn in for a coupon on next years passes. I know they were handing out coupons for $50 and $25 off and I believe there were some that were 50% off as well. Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to get those. Passes were on sale for $185 for renewals and $189 for a 2017 platinum pass, and the coupons were only valid yesterday. IMO the night was all about selling passes for next year. Don't think they anticipated the crowds they had because the lines for all the special events and passes were crazy. But considering that the coupons we got yesterday allowed us to buy four platinum passes for 2017 at the same price we paid for three regular passes and one platinum for 2016, I'd still call it a good night.

According to what i was told last night, that same pricing will be the pricing for the passes when they go on sale Saturday morning to the public. This will be the cheapest price of the season, like always when they go on sale in August.
