New Slogan?

CP should always stick with the RIDE ON slogan because if they keep changing its going to confuse the tourists.

How would it confuse tourist? I don't think the tag line at the end of "Cedar Point" will ever confuse anyone. If they have heard of Cedar Point, then the slogan does not matter.

Well what about "Americas Roller Coast" or "Get to the Point"? While I don't like the new slogan, change needs to happen and will happen. Doing so wont confuse tourists.

I agree with Maverick owns, change isn't really necessary at this point. There are already two slogans. It sounds really stupid when the rid ops say something different from anyone else. 3 slogans is not a bad idea. Americas roller coast is the most used so i say stick with what works.

Slogans, like logos and even company colors, need to be updated from time-to-time, in order to keep with modern trends and such.

Yeah, because the tourists stopped coming when they changed the slogan from "Queen of American Watering Places" some 80 years ago.

But, these are the ads I remember the most. "The cure for the summertime blues"...

They all resonate with different groups differently, and I would like to think there is at least minimal focus-group research into the ad campaigns for each park. You need to keep in mind that most of us here don't exactly represent the "general public". Not that your opinion isn't valid, but members of sites like these are qualitatively different with regards to emotional reactions linked to anything the park does.

There was a thread started last week about cement being dug up, and redone. Cement.

I have to agree from back in the 80's... "The cure for the summertime blues" ads are the ones that I remember the most too. It just worked,was memorable, and got to the point (pun not really intended.)

It's pretty much the same reasons why other top past slogans worked well too:


  • America's Roller Coast./ America's Rockin Roller Coast.
  • Get to the Point! (Cedar Point.)

What is this "the fun and only" stuff now? Pardon the slightly obvious, but if you are using the slogan/ tag line for multiple parks, how is it "only" still?

It's not. The slogan is "The fun and only".


I will and forever always say "America's Rockin' Roller Coast"

I just like it the best. Every now and then I may follow with a "Ride On!" That's just how I am though.

Carowinds (in Charlotte, NC), another Cedar Fair property, is also using Fun and Only. I saw it on a tv spot last night. It was lame!

I always liked "The Amazement Park"

I call the park Cedar Point. Whatever tag line it has is entirely irrelevant to me.

I think a good commercial tagline would be, "Cedar Point: This is how we roll!" coupled with quick shots of the coasters and assorted flats of the park.

^ That would be perfect for the younger riders. As I am in that demographic I love it! However I don't know if that plays to the families very well.

You're right, though. I was thinking more along the lines of the younger set, which isn't necessarily the demographic that Cedar Point needs to win over.

Add Canada's Wonderland to the list of parks using the Fun and Only slogan. Just saw a commerical on a Toronto TV station. It wasn't a bad commercial.

Also add Kings Dominion. It seems that they are using the same format for each commercial (Kings Dominion, Kings Island) but they also have the Ride On! commercials too.

I'm a big fan of "The Amazement Park" - but that's probably because it's so retro.

I don't think that MiA will use that one, as they have had the same TV ad with a few new tweaks in it for the last few years.

On my way into work this morning, I was listening to 102.7 ( local Sandusky radio station ) and heard a commercial for 2010 CP platinum passes and yes they are using the new slogan. Personally, i'm not a fan of it.
