So in a way, riding a coaster is akin to meditation and/or a practice in mindfulness.

No wonder I feel so good when I get off these machines.

I find they're great stress relief. I've had at least two doctors look at me like I'm nuts when I've tried to explain to them that coasters have a calming effect on me.

Anything that keeps your mind in the present and in tune with your immediate surroundings can have a calming effect. It also causes time to "fly" because you're so engaged in the moment. Hence, those days we get to go to Cedar Point never feel long enough.

Great stress relief indeed.

For one, it doesn't "coast". It's driven by a motor. And it just goes back and forth while spinning around. I consider it more of a flat ride.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard that PS vallied last year. How does this work if it is driven by a motor?

Technically speaking, PS valleys every time its in the station, similar to WT's situation... ;)

Maybe it was an E-Stop

Weather Freak
Ride Warrior

They put up Corkscrew and Gemini today.

Looks like they are going to put up two each week.

Hmm, if they are putting up two per week, I wonder if this indicates how many they will be adding in 2016?

It would be unexpected of CP to revamp the entire blue streak midway and add two coasters, but it would not surprise me with the past projects being...

2015 - Revamp of mantis to rougarou and remodel of hotel breakers.
2014 - Gemini midway.
2013 - Gatekeeper and main entrance.

This pattern may indicate that a remodel for the marina entrance is definite possibility.

Obviously you weren't around in 2006 then. That whole year was hype for Maverick even with a new attraction.

The big difference is that in addition to Maverick's footers already being in place for the start of the 2006 season, track segments were also arriving in May 2006. There is no such activity for any 2016 attraction, thus no reason for the park to begin any sort of marketing campaign.

Yeah I think they learned their lesson with that one. I would expect any deliveries for a new coaster to be stored off-site and in covered tarps. I believe that was what happened with GateKeeper until after it was officially announced and construction began.

Or they could just schedule delivery until after the announcement.

As you may recall, they did attempt to cover up with tarps the shiny red Intamin deliveries in Breakers Express' parking lot. However, that only came after the buzz started and they did not stay down.

Whether or not all of that was intentional, we cannot say.

Isn't this about the time of year that the Sandusky Register would normally be posting stories about the new giant coaster that is getting built?

When it comes to "hiding" deliveries, everyone forgets that Cedar Fair owns a large, practically empty piece of land near Aurora. A delivery could be dropped off there, covered in tarps, and no one would really know for a while. Of course, it's not practical to drop off literally tons of metal an hour and a half from it's final destination, but weirder things have happened. Anywho... back to the signs.

I think they're just decoration to make the fence more pleasing to the eye. Will it end with a teaser to the next big thing? Probably not. But the phrase "This history, this legacy, will continue here at The Roller Coaster Capital of the World" makes me think a bit.

Why are people always so convinced that there is a past pattern indicative of future plans? Circumstances and context are always different, so there is no reason to draw these conclusions. It's like, if I built a screened in patio in Florida, do you think I would do the same thing if I moved to Alaska?

If the signs are simply decoration; wouldn't they install all the signs at the same time? Why would they install two; wait two weeks; install two more; wait.... they aren't just decoration.

Perhaps it is intentional, but is it really impossible to believe that the sign shop would simply prioritize different jobs at different times? Again, it's completely arbitrary how people arrive at these absolutes.

I think the rest of the signs are sitting in storage right now and will be put up when their time comes.

Probably a bit too soon to ask this, but does anyone happen to have any pictures?

And looking back on my earlier post, my gut tells me that they'll put in Wilderness Run next along with Iron Dragon (perhaps even note that it was originally Jr. Gemini). Meanwhile, I'm guessing they'll save Rougarou for 2015, since the conversion from stand-up to floorless practically made it a brand-new coaster. We'll see, though.
