Thoughts and observations

I like this addition....I think its a nice fit in the area and I dig the use of the beach. I think Walt made a good point that it could bring more life to the stadium...I think that show is an underrated family feature of the park. I actually prefer the look of the Windseeker to the StarFlyer....I'm not at all concerned about static seating or less height.

That being said I would have loved a little bit more individual theming at each park (and different names...maybe similiar but not identical), and it does concern me that CF will have 4 unproven rides opening in the same year. Just my idea, but maybe you let another park open one of the 300 footers this year and then hopefully talk Mondial into going higher for one at CP in the future....although, then CP looks a little like a copycat and they might not want that for the flagship. IDK.

All in all, I am satisfied....although, as some people on here need to realize, in the grand scheme of things, whether one enthusiast (or a handful of us) is satisfied means little or nothing to CF. :)

Well the ride is doing what it's suppose to do, meaning, a thrill ride.

I have gone from - I will never get on this thing, to it looks safe, to what if it falls apart when I am on it, to it looks good, is there a safety feature, such as brakes if the lift cable breaks. Will the seats be cabled, or chained, in case the super solid arms, or seats fall, To I can't wait to see it next year.

Nice Addition :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Perhaps Dick should go out into the park and measure the lines. Every time I'm at the park, there are LOOOONG lines for... COASTERS, not for carnival flats. Again, I realize they can't afford a new coaster every year or two, but I would much rather see them put some money in the bank to save up for another awesome coaster instead of things like "another water ride (if I want to get wet I'll go to the water park)" or flat. And one more thought, I will ride the Windseeker and probably enjoy it, but why have they been putting all of the spinning rides next to each other in the front of the park? I really enjoy riding Raptor, MaxAir and Wicked Twister, but I can only ride them each once or twice before I need to go back to a regular coaster - why not spread them out?

When in the world did coasters get re-classified as spinning rides?

Do we really need Dick wandering around the park more than he does? Just saying.....

Wonder how far saliva would travel from this thing?

That would really end the fun.

Imagine someones loose shoe coming off max spin/max height.

Visual Scan!
First Top Thrill Dragster train of 2011!
Rollbacks: 1st Triple Rollback of 2009!

They'll have to modify the spiel for Dragster: "Head back, laces tight!"

Its pretty obvious the poster meant rides that spin, twist etc... sick makers.

Well with the location there's about a 25 percent chance it will end up in the lake, as opposed to an unlucky action sports athlete at the stadium :)

80+ coasters and counting

I'm excited for this ride. It seems like a nice addition to the park. But what's with adding four of them? A little too six flags for my liking.

my fav. rides:
1) Top Thrill Dragster
1) M-Force
1) Maverick

Lmao, next thing you know they will change the colors, add lame flame throwers, and change all the coasters to Bizarro.

Why over the shoulder restraints, and not lapbars? I think lapbars would make it more exciting

Lol...Or they will call all of there rides "thunderhawk" or "dominator", or add a coasters dinner, or johnny rockets, or a camp snoopy, or have the same ice show, or have bland concrete midways loaded with garbage cans, or have the same crappy high priced food, or rotate rides from park to park, or have the same t shirts and souvinears, or have the same lame mascot like snoopy, or have a game day grill, or a thunder canyon, or the same uniforms, or ......well, you get the idea.

Cedar fair is more like six flags than you think.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Where did you get that? The graphics I have seen all show lap bars similar to what they should have used on Maverick and did use on Shoot the Rapids.

Isn't it odd for an amusement park to not have a pirate ship ride?

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Kevinj's avatar

Maybe in 1985.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be sarcastic (I just cant help it)....first of all, Ocean Motion was not the world's greatest Pirate ship ride. In fact, it was one of the most boring I have ever been on. I will miss it not.

Second, the world evolves...and Cedar Point has always...always evolved. New rides come, old rides go....I would recommend you go during Halloweekends and take a look at the ride graveyard.

Does that mean I do not miss some of the oldies? Heck no...I LOVED Earthquake, the Pirate Ride, ect...but I also love Maverick, Wicked Twister, SkyHawk, etc....something has to go.

No, I do not think it's that odd at all.
