Troika

I've ridden Troika, except that I have not.

But I guess I'm in no rush to ride it, since it's sticking around. Or it may not.

With the way things have been removed without mention or a heads up given, I would still ride it if I were you.

You currently cannot ride Troika as it's behind the temp fence for the deconstruction of Disaster Transport and Space Spiral

Cedar Point is ONE BY ONE knocking off all of the boredwalk rides!!!! This outrageous. First the Chaos, then Ocean Motion, then Dister Trasport and FINALLY SPACE SPIRAL AND TROIKA TROIKA TROIKA. Why do they hate this area of the park so much????? Its my favorite part of the park and will be my grand kid's favorite part of the park too.

Ocean Motion is still at Cedar Point, and it has been said that Troika is also staying. Both Disaster Transport and Chaos were crap and needed to go.

Parker

That part of the park isn't meant to be a boardwalk theme. And unless you have the money to maintain Chaos, I'm sure it won't be coming back anytime soon. As little of a ride Chaos was, so much money was spent on that thing.

Ocean Motion is still at the park. Windseeker looks a lot better in that location anyways.

The loss of Space Spiral definitely is sad, but it was it's time to go.

Cedar Point doesn't hate that area of the park at all, hence why they are building a bran new iconic B&M for next season. I'm sure there will be better flat rides added to that section of the park as time goes on.

I was always curious as to why many people become upset when anything is done to that area of the park. A lot have said that they want the park to build a boardwalk going along WT and where DT was, and build a wooden coaster. It has been mentioned in past threads. Why does everyone like this idea? Obviously the park is not adding a "boardwalk", and gatekeeper will go up.

Was there ever an actual boardwalk there at one time? I know Jumbo jet was there in the 60s, then wildcat, and avalanche run/disaster. I looked at old photos, and saw just as was listed above, along a regular paved midway by the beach. Matterhorn was there in some pics as well, with Jumbo jet. I am not bashing anyone, I'm just curious. :)

Yes there was a boardwalk there - to see what it was just image search on Cedar Point Boardwalk Postcard.

Just say no to trims

There was never a boardwalk there in the modern era of CP. Space Spiral and I believe the new games building were built in 1965. There was a bathhouse in the area, about where Giant Wheel is now, and that part of the beach was called the "Public Beach". The beach in front of Breakers was restricted to hotel guests, and I remember there even being a sign-in sheet at the gate of the hotel beach for your name and room number.

Miss Maverick, Jumbo Jet was installed in the early 70's, 1972 I believe, not in the 60s. Matterhorn was there at one point and before Matterhorn the area had a Super Himalaya type ride called Zugspitz. I think there was also a food stand right by the beach and the beach front part of the park also had a short lived electric go cart ride and a spinning ride called Twister.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I am enjoying what they are doing with the park! I am also hoping that they will keep the flat rides and smaller stuff for those who don't ride the big coasters! I love both so I am good!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

thanks Pete. But still, why do people want a wooden coaster over there so bad? Blue streak pretty much has that atmosphere, being by the water, and is a great wooden coaster. As for Mean streak, also by the water, it could use some new trains, but I enjoy that too.

I think WT and gatekeeper, and windseeker are fine on the beach and also the area is opened up more, now we can walk down the beach by gatekeeper and watch it from that part of the beach :)

Cedar Point needs a good GCI woodie or Gravity Group woodie on the beach. It can loop around the Gatekeeper and Windseker and can do a fly by at the parking lot and it could be the world's fist tri looping woodie if Cedar Point still nedds records to be broken.

Because looping woodies have such a great track record...

Thanks Pete, I always wanted to know what Zugspitz was. I asked on one of these threads a year ago, but never got a response. Is there any pics of Zugspitz, or one like it that you know of.

Thanks Jason, reading some of that thread brought back memories of reading Mr. Scotts wonderful posts when I was just a lurker on here.

Technically Outlaw Run has 3 inversions, according to RCDB. As for vertical loops, maybe, but still no truly important record, besides the only vertical loop with the declawing and death of SoB. I know you re a troll, but this is a rather intelligent comment, considering I would like a woodie on the beach. That or giving Mean Streak the Iron Horse treatment. However, I don't see GG making an inverting woodie, and the same goes for GCI. Looping wooden coasters appear to be mainly Rocky Mountain's business, seeing how many woodie trends they are willing to break, but we'll only see when Outlaw Run opens how good the execution of the plan is.

If I recall correctly, the Timberliners are listed as having the ability to be launched.

Okay, I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I'm officially calling 'troll' too. To me, BBTC's posts don't feel authentically idiotic, merely impersonations of idiocy.
