Winter Chill Out 2015

I think that we would go to Castaway Bay for lunch and the Q&A after the actual tour.

If they were to reschedule due to inclement weather, when do you think they would make that call? I hope they do it at least the day before. Right now there's a 60% chance of snow next Saturday, but I'll take that with a massive grain of salt this far out. I'm thinking most likely they would only reschedule if it was something extreme like very cold wind chills or a snow storm.

Yea, I doubt snow would shut it down. It is winter after all. :P

I'm hoping they reschedule the snow fall for next Saturday. I would rather it fall on Friday and then be clear the next day. I'll probably be getting my car back middle of the week next week so I don't want anything to happen to it a second time.

I'm hoping they reschedule the snow fall for December. :P

It's way to early to believe the forecast, but right now they are calling for snow showers developing in the afternoon. No big storm or anything like that, should have zero effect on the event.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I am hoping that the Coral Dinning Room rehab is complete enough to feed us there. Probably hoping for the impossible, but it would be cool.

I just arrived at my destination right now in Ohio from New York, and it was a terrible drive. Couldn't see the road or the vehicle in front of me half of the time. Horrible snow and wind. Drove past several pileups with at least one being deadly. One had 60+ cars and trucks. Scary. Hope that it doesn't snow next Saturday, don't want to drive through those conditions again. How many Winter Chill Outs in the past have been delayed? What happens if the delay date is also cancelled?

There's not been a delay so far. Every event has gone as planned. I wouldn't be too worried. If it snows, it snows. But don't count on them to cancel it unless absolutely necessary.

If it were today, they most definitely would've rescheduled. There was a HUGE accident on the turnpike near Sandusky today, which unfortunately killed 3 people. I think they will only cancel if a day like today was forecasted, which doesn't seem to be the case right now.

We drove right past that. I saw several pileups with jackknifed trucks, upside down cars, etc. Very scary.

Anybody know when the lunch schedule is for Saturday?

My tickets don't say anything about where we will be eating lunch, just that it will be provided. It also says to meet at the season pass center, so there is a chance that we might be entering from the main gate. I hope that we do, it would just be so cool to do that in the middle of winter with nobody else there :)

I should add that your signature is incorrect, your next CP visit is on Saturday :)

Tony made a couple tweets this morning. One said "A #WinterChillOut update: we are still a GO for Saturday. Should the weather change that, I'll update you by 5 pm on Thursday." So thats when we will know about a cancellation.

The other said "If you're coming to #WinterChillOut, you'll come right to the park, as indicated on your ticket - no activities are off property." So I'm guessing this means no Castaway Bay this year?

If nothing is at CB, then where could the lunch possibly be? As far as I know, none of the buildings on point are heated except for office buildings and I don't think it would be at Breakers due to the construction.

Might they be using the renovated Lakeside Dining Room?

Is it heated? I suppose they could be adding heat to buildings when they renovate them.

There are conference rooms in Breakers East with their own entrance.

A while back Tony tweeted a picture of Kristy and him in front of Breakwater Café with the caption of "Scoping out places for Winter Chill Out" (or something similar). I don't know if the Breakwater has heat or the capacity necessary, but I'm not sure why else we would be visiting it for the Winter Chill Out.
