Not true... There isn't a standup coaster in Cedar Point's collection! So that's always another option! 😁😎

I hope that was sarcasm...

Why do people believe building a tunnel is impossible? With this logic the Windsor Tunnel would be impossible. It is just a matter of cost. This thing doesn't need to be 50ft deep.

I don't think anybody said it was impossible. They are just asking the question of wether or not it would be worth the cost or the risk of it not working out.

Nobody said it's physically impossible, and really, you answered your own question - cost. The impossibility comes from the benefit/cost ratio. If it's too expensive for what it gives, relative to other proposals, it won't get approved, and won't be done.

The building of the tunnel won't be all that big a deal,or that expensive. Nor will it be all that big a deal designing and building a water evacuation system that will keep it dry when it rains. The question is going to be is that will the powers that be feel that the "wow" factor worth it.

CoasterCam & TopThrill- I had hoped the smileys with the big grin and the shades would be a giveaway that I was being sarcastic!

I was just checking. There are a few hardcore standup fans out there.

Technically, Cedar Point has a B&M Stand-Up model coaster that is being adapted to run Floorless trains. It's still designed as a Stand-Up.

Alright, so next for CP should be a floorless coaster. They don't have one of those yet.

Ben, that was a perfect response to a ridiculous statement. Thank you sir.

Technically Cedar Point was designed as a resort with no rides. So technically there should be no coasters there.

One question I have regarding Triotech dark rides is what kind of foot print do they take up. How compact could Cedar Point go with one while still creating an all around great experience. I'm not really much of a dark ride fan so I haven't paid attention to the latest Cedar Fair installations very much. They do look interesting though.

Sorry to change the direction of the comments but I am curious, does anyone know what CP plans to do with the old Turnpike cars themselves? I would really like to get my hands on one.

It wouldn't be very Negligent of me to spell my name correctly.

I heard they were going to Michigan's Adventure.

Maybe that's a joke, but MA has an electric turnpike ride, so no.
I'd like a car too, no place to put it, but nonetheless...
I think the black one, the silver one, or the pink one, please.

It was a joke. MA getting other parks defunct rides is a common joke on amusment park forums.

Really?

I heard the cars are going to Dorny Park.

It would make sense to ship the Turnpike Cars to Dorney, as Dorney got a collection of Turnpike Cars from Cedar Point back in 1994 when the ride was reconfigured to make room for Raptor.

I am definitely glad out of all the car rides they decided to take out Turnpike. Cadillac and Antique cars are always classic! I will miss however walking through the marina gate seeing the Turnpike cars drive by.

They're relatively small and compact. They have some examples on their website on how small they can go (for reference, Knott's will take up 18,000 sq ft, the GoodTime Theater was 19,000 sq ft):

I'd expect Cedar Point's to be around the same size, if not larger, than Knott's Berry Farms. The Knott's IDK was limited to the constraints of an existing building and I think they'll find out that the low capacity and long lines will be even worse at Cedar Point, which has NO other indoor attractions for people to flock to when it's raining out or the suns oppressively hot.
