Gatekeeper Test runs

That explains Magnum's first run! I kid, I kid. In one of the new pictures released of the inside of the station it shows the control booth still in "development". It shouldn't take long to hook all the controls to that so whenever that is done (I'm guessing 2-4 days) I think testing will begin and we will all become hooked to our computers. Poor refresh button.

Either the third train is here or there is one train on each storage track.

I'd imagine they are testing that storage track. I'd say it's a fair assumption until we see all 3 on camera

There is one train on each storage track. The train that was in back was moved to the other storage track, then the train that was in the station was put back in its original spot.

That makes sense.

This is totally off-topic but My heart skipped a beat.. Like 10 times...

I figured there was a thread for it but was to lazy and just wanted to say it because it was a little scary. Thanks though

As a bit of advice to someone who is new here. Don't do that. There is a really nice search function on the site that is quite effective. It's up at the top of the page where it says "Search|My Posts|Recent|Favorites|Subscriptions|" Also, that was the first topic posted in the general section. Just use a little effort.

So much for watching testing on the webcams... The page for them on CP's website is gone.

But they seem to have forgotten about the ones on Gatekeepers website...

Yeah, but look at the times on the webcam images - a little stale at over 30 minutes old.

remember: no matter where you go... there you are.

Didn't notice that. Oh well.

Wow, I don't understand why they don't want the public to see it test run.

^ Clearly they've forgotten it isn't an Intamin and they're afraid something will go terribly wrong ;)

Do you think they're doing the test run tonight? All the webcams are down.

I doubt the test run is tonight. I feel like the reason the web cams are off is so when the world sees the first test run, it's through an official Cedar Point video and not from us watching the webcam. Just a theory though. For them to turn off the webcams, the first test run must be within the next 24 hours.

The ride is a machine and machines sometimes do exactly what we don't want them to do. It doesn't matter who created it, Murphy's Law still holds true. With that being said I remember when Diamondback down at KI started testing, the webcams were initially turned towards Vortex. It was stated that it was to try out different views from the tower, but it also served the purpose of not giving the internet a picture of a possible vallied train, or worse during those initial run. It wasn't so much that the park didn't want the internet to see the first runs, it was that the park didn't want the possibility of a PR nightmare should something actually go wrong, or be construed as having gone wrong even if it was a properly conducted test.

R.I.P. Mr. Scott

Yeah, which is what I was aluding to in my first post. No conspiracy they just want the public to see it working right and not let some flaw out. No biggie.

Does anyone know exactly what is going on with the webcams. I may be freaking out, but I know all of us would like to see what is going on...even if it is just the cam on top of dragster. Does anyone live close enough to CP to verify what is happening?

Thanks
