Halloweekends 2012

The pit is only big enough for the lift that is in it.

Plus a few other Cedar Fair parks use a lift for the Overlord. I'd like to see Cedar Point do something better.

It would be cool if they attached him to the structure that the acrobats use during Luminosity and some how make it look like he is flying or something.

We also know that Terror Island is moving. A lot of you probably noticed, but there is a newly paved path in the Maverick infield.

I've seen it too. It doesn't seem to be too long but maybe the theming could make it really good. Just it will be weird not having Terror Island on an actual island unless they rename it. Now a question I have is where will the entrance and exit be? I didn't notice any obvious spots for them.

It does look pretty short. I can see them maybe taking the trail to the back half of Thunder Canyon, the part that is not already used for Corn Stalkers.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I think they should get rid of Corn-stalkers and re-theme that attraction.

It's just not as scary as some of the other haunted attractions.

I like the theme and it alone is pretty creepy. The theme of it is good, they just need to work on those who actually scare you.

Since Cornstalkers debuted a few years back it has always remained my favourite haunt. Like 99er said, the theme alone is what makes it. I've been through it when the Screamsters are on the ball and it's just great. Even when they aren't I still enjoy the atmosphere.

My most memorable Halloweekends moment ever occured in Cornstalkers on Closing Weekend a few years back. Three friends and I were walking through and I noticed a big puddle of water along the path near the parked pickup truck. I mentioned to one of my friends casually how it was strange there was so much water on the ground when it was a dry night. A Screamster came out of no where in front of us and in a creepy voice said, "I just peed!" We stopped on the path for like 45 seconds because we were laughing so hard. Good times.

Cornstalkers holds a special place in my heart as the only haunted attraction I've been through to have actually "scarred" me. :)

I saw some interesting activity going on around in the Mean Streak infield. I have heard that a new haunt will be going in there. Perhaps it is the wax museum themed haunt. *hint* *hint* *wink* *wink* ;)

We are 2 and a half months away.

"Chuckie"- Happy Jack Toy Factory Screamster 2009. 2010-11 Kilroy the Clown Carnevil Screamster
2012 Blood on the bayou.

So it might just be me, but when they mentioned that an existing haunt might be re-themed, I kinda hope that it is the Screamworks. I felt that steampunk as a haunt theme really didn't work.... especially in the frontier town area.

The Fright Zone seems to work best when it isn't trying to push a particular theme. The steampunk concept of Screamworks would likely be better served by an indoor haunt or at least an outdoor haunt in a smaller setting.

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

Apparently Happy Jack's is not going to be transplanted elsewhere in the park. In fact, they're already ripping the lighting out of the haunt; I presume many of the props have already been yanked.

That's because that building will not be there for Halloweekends

Edit: I just realized Ensign, that you said something similar to what I said in another thread

That's too bad if Happy Jacks is not being relocated. It's only a few years old, and I thought as far as theme went was one of the better houses.

I really liked fright Zone when it was actually fright Zone. I remember when i was too scared to go in and i would sit with my grandma, and listen to the skeleton guy. I was so mad when they got rid of him.

He was there last year.

Not the actual skeleton head like at the entrance. They had a guy that was half human and then the bottom half was a skeleton and i dont think ive seen him for around 3 years.
