How much do you get paid?

If you had the answer you could consult and make more money by helping parks all across the country who are in the same boat that Cedar Point is.

If Cedar Point did not have housing, they would really be up the river without a paddle.

The imports are here for 1 reason only:ECONOMICS 101!! It is also nice to see them get a taste of the United States and likewise.

When I lived in the old commons I started with 10 roomies and ended the summer with 4. And you really do have to be a bonehead to get let go from CP. I know some real winners. I am shocked in retrospect how I made it through that summer without even a verbal warning with all the garbage I pulled!

Getting along with your boss really goes a long way!

And by the way my cousin "bubbles", my brother in law GI-GI and mother are all from the south. The derision is simple comedy and if you choose to take it the wrong way soo-sorry.

That is true about MI white trash, I have seen alot of that go on. Just like the house with mag wheels down in Cat-holler, KY! Lol!

Making fun of trailer park slime was not invented by any of us. It has been around for 20 years and is of great comedic value! You know the joke "23 tornado free days". That was on an episode of the Simpsons 10 years ago.

All groups take being made fun of. Jen acted like someone shot RFK or some crap like that. It is only a joke that happens to have alot of "value". In other words "hey i didnt kill JFK" so lighten up Jen and enjoy the jokes!

All humour or most is done at the expense of someone; thats why it is humour!

I can make jokes about John Lennon being shot by Marky Chapman, or R. Reagan being nailed by that whacko Hinkley. I am sorry if the jokes are abit above your intellectual level but so be it!

My first remark to my drunk buddies in Drugtona Beach, Fl. was "did he get him? give him another shot!".; reference the Reagan assantation attempt 4/81. Naturually my freinds were appalled and called me a "very sick F***" as they laughed along!

Jen if you ever have to work in an occupation such as child welfare (yuck I did it); the gallows humour is just a way to cope with the work and relieve the stress. Nursing has a gallows humour that gives even a sick peice of garbage like me the willlies;so get used to it THATS LIFE IN THE FAST LANE! ALL IN FUN

Trust me. I can take a joke. I'm sure there are many people on this forum that can vouch for me that I have quite a sense of humor. I often poke fun at myself as well. I in no way intended to sound like someone shot someone. I make fun of my southern roots jsut as much as the next guy. However, being from the south makes no one less of a person and incapable of working at Cedar Point. We used humor in the office daily to get by. But there comes a time when a line is crossed and I felt like it was crossed and felt the need to say something. I was getting the impression that people would rather have a monkey running a ride than someone from the south. I knew I'd catch heat for it and I was ready for it. I'm sorry that you think that I have no sense of humor.

Your sense of humor sucks if you think you're only funny while ripping on people. That's lame. Once in a while, it's funny. Constantly, it's ignorant and redundant.

Amusement parks that are of decent size will always have trouble finding employees if they don't have a foreigner program or something to bring in more kids (ever heard of Disney's college program?). This is how things generally are and is a pretty well known fact in the amusement park world.

I think that one should look at quantity and not quality, per se.

Yeah, I know we get paid $X.XX/hr and with the bonus, we get $Y.XX/hr, but in all truth, if you look at it, if you are able to complete your contract, that is serious money that is for sure...

It does add up...and people do walk away from there with good money for college, buying a new automobile, or other things that require a huge infusion of cash.

But, the intangible benefits are priceless...but I won't repeat those details as I have already mentioned those thus far.
