NEWS FLASH!!!! Track and supports sighted

is it just me or does it seem like this track is starting to arrive alittle early? when did MFs track start arriving? im thinking that if track is already here, could this mean a very very big ride (rumored to be over 400 feet tall). and i bet you that the placement of the track out in the open is just for plublicity put there by CP, and so far it appears to be working.

[insert drooling here] I've never been keen to the idea of varying track colors... but none the less, I'm beyond excited.

I think MF's first bit of track was spotted in the boneyard well before this date in 1999. They announced MF on July 22 and track was spotted before that if I remember...

I pray to God that this coaster has a underground tunnel.
Underground tunnels at Cedar Point, as has been discussed millions of times before, will more than likely never happen.

I was there today (he he lucky me). You can't imagine my suprise when I saw the track from Mean Streak.

I took my own photos, which can be found at: http://www.atlanticrail.com/images/cp

Most I took from the road. You can see all the track and supports. I also took some from the MS line. You can see them unloading the track from a truck.

Nice and big pictures and more to come!

While I was up there, I noticed the lack of more track there, so, I suppose that there might be more elsewhere in the park, and Walt, until my pics come back, can I use one of yours with credit on my site?

I counted 6 sections of track in all. And one HUGE support. There were also a few little white "pillar" supports.

Addington, while it's news, it's not an announcement. Please don't lose sleep over it! Wait a some weeks before that. :-)

Kidding aside, and don't troll me on this one, i SWEAR TO GOD, that i saw this similar color track when I was going to Summit Racing, from Medina (via I-76) on a flatbed truck. I didn't believe i saw it at first, and didn't turn around to look again, but now that i've thought about it. It had to be the track. Also I saw some "I" beams on a trailer right behind the couple with the track. Now I didn't see the support, but i did see red track, and grey "I" beams (most likely for the station?) I can't wait to get up there tomorrow. Also did anyone check the Employee Parking lot on the mainland for any more pieces of track?

I am VERY sure there is only one support (yellow). There was no tan that I could see. Just that one yellow support.

CP really didn't have to make the track muti-colored (if that is what it really is). Imagine the skyline already with a new red coaster added to it- the three highest points would be RED (new), WHITE (Power Tower) and BLUE (Mill-Force).

Seems to me, they've been patriotic all along! Not to mention the Red/White/Blue bicentennial year coaster- Corkscrew...

Here's the only thing about the patriotic thing. Someone said before, that they may have been inspired by the 9-11 happenings. But (IMO) i would think that the coaster would be too far along in the design, if not building (of the track) process, now I know it isn't that difficult to change the paint color, but I don't think they would've had time. Maybe I'm not right, but I know MF took like 3 years to Design, make, and construct, so if it's a 400 footer, it would probably take a little longer? or not? Maybe shorter cause it's launched.

Ok, thats why i said "here's the ONLY thing about...."

I think you may be correct about an Ohio bicentennial themed coaster. But as for a USA patriotically themed coaster... I think You hit the nail right on the head!

Hey I Just got home from CP and if you guys think that this is all the track that is there you're horribly mistaken. For 1 they would not ship that little bit from Europe. 2 I seen a whole lotta activity under the Gemini today and they were fastening huge pieces of tarp over what was obviosly track and supports as you could tell by thie shape. I also feel that the announcement will be very soon as im sure CP knew this would not go un-noticed but then again they are still putting a little effort in covering something and the ride op of Chaos was telling me that it will not be up in running this Holloween as it will be dismantled. When i asked him about the troika and the possible relocation of chaos he said he knew nothing about it.

Storing it by Gemini would make sense, less travel time in potential bad weather while assembling it. Is it near the parking lot side of gemini? It would seem hard to get to other parts than that with a crane.
Ouluvd2, you are right it isn't hard to paint so, I am sure they had enough time. I've painted cars before and it doesn't take long around an hour or two with ur basic ordinary paint gun. Intamin though probably has a facility that can shell out track in a matter of no time with the right tools. So they could have had time to paint the track any color they wanted.

I don't really get the point of all these different colors unless of course they are planning on puttin different colors in different parts of the park.

Where are tha pictures of all these other color tracks though !?!

You can see a piece of white track behind one of the red ones.

Another thing I noticed. Based on where the mounts appear to be on the back of the track, and the turn angle of the track, these can't be tophat pieces ,they seem to go the wrong way unless my eyes are already bugging out tonight and I'm wrong.
