Skyhawk VS. MaxAir......NO CONTEST

Well, I was disappointed in my first rides of each. Then, everytime after that, I loved them. I definately like the restraints on SH better because I can see more and can move. And the load times don't really bother me when I'm on it, but when in line, I want it to go faster. I think the ride itself is more fun. My second time on, I tilted my head back and saw MF upsidedown and then my feet began to come forward so it felt like I was suspended in midair upsidedown. It was the coolest feeling ever. I mean I love how it gains speed so fast. It really comes at you, but it ends just as its getting fun. It would be a million times better if it was longer. Plus, Skyhawk was almost up all day yesterday, where, as usual, maXair was from about 2 til close. They actually had the ride crew around with rags and spray bottles cleaning all the fences.

This year:
Maverick: 5
MF: 4
TTD: 2
Skyhawk: 5

I find maXair to be much more fun. So I agree, no contest.

Is it just me, or do you get more air on Ocean Motion than you go on Skyhawk? Granted if they increased the ride cycle on Skyhawk it would be superior to Ocean Motion, but right now I just feel like Ocean Motion gives a better ride. Seriously.

The last time I went I counted like six ride cycles, of course it was raining the last time I went so there wasn't much of a crowd. My opinion though is I like MaXair better then Skyhawk. It's not because of the longer cycle time that MaXair has over Skyhawk, it's just I like the motion of MaXair. I think it's a lot of fun flying to the top and just feeling so much air go through you. Skyhawk is a lot of fun too, it provides just as much airtime as MaXair does. What I find cool about Skyhawk is the noise it makes. It reminds me so much of Power Tower.

I've heard a lot of people say that about it (without riding), but for me (I dunno about others) I barely even notice the spinning. The only time you really realize that it is spinning is when you get a different view at each peak. Honestly, just watch it at the beginning when it's in the station; the spin is barely even anything. My thoughts when I'm deciding to ride it aren't "hey I love that ride, it spins you to heck" (like when riding Matterhorn or something), it's more along the lines of "hey I love that ride, you get great views and it's FAST"

I don't like Spin 'n Pukes either. But that is not what maXair is. It's a great ride and the spinning (which is slow, anyway, shouldn't bother you) enhances the ride.

Ride it, you'll be fine.

I think that maXair was a little less thrilling than skyhawk, and skyhawk was, therefore, just that extra bit better. I love maxair, and I do enjoy the speed of the que and comfortr of the seats, but once skyhawk's ride time lengthens a little bit (middle of the year, same a s rush) it should be absolutely amazing.

I say we put them right in front of each other and start them on an infinite cycle and see who is truely better. Let them bash each other to bits. Last ride standing! Two rides enter, one ride leaves!

"Milk was a bad choice..."

I do tend towards motion sickness, and I have ridden maXair, and it is a great ride. However, I do get slightly nauseous by the end of the ride. It's definitely not a Chaos or anything like that, but someone who seriously is prone to motion sickness could well feel the effects on maXair.

I like Skyhawk better. I just wish it was longer.

Well, for reference, WT is enough to ruin my day. I'm very susceptible to spinning nausea, and occasionally plain old motion sickness. There have been times when I've needed a break after Raptor, sadly.

I do intend to ride it, but only when I'm staying for a couple days. I'll ride it at the end of the first day, just to avoid having my nausea ruin the rest of my trip.

That'll work. But don't pass it by. It's an excellent ride!

Spinning sickness is influenced by so much. Pop a Dramamine 2 (the low-drowsiness kind) an hour before MaxAir on a cool evening and the light spinning is no problem. On the other hand, a muggy afternoon with the OTS restraint pressing down and lunch sitting in your stomach like a rock... ewww, no more spins Pat; I'll guess the puzzle now.

Just say no to trims

I like them both but maxair makes my stomach sick and sky hawk doesnt so i guess sky hawk has that on its side.

^ Ya same here. And although maXair goes faster, it feels thought skyhawk is faster since it does not spin. Overall I like Skyhawk more with the weightless feeling.

Has SH added more swings and ride ops???

If not, motion sickness or whatever, Maxair I'm sure is better, for ride time and more importantly.....wait time.

PS..Better yet, are BOTH of Skyhawks arms swinging??? :P
