To Mantis Ops

Why do you guys take so long to get trains out? Also, why did they add seat belts?
I rode mantis once so far this year. And this years crew is at least trying!!!!!! Sure there was some stacking, however i noticed a big difference in the attitude of this compared to last years crew. They were nice and were the second funniest crew. (funniest goes to raptor) I think with a little more practice they will get better. Also half of the problem or really most of it are the people what do you do on a stand up, ah hmm STAND UP!! But the workers were trying to move them quickly.

And for crying out loud, stop bouncing! They were actually doing great on Sunday I thought. Sure they'd stack everynow and then most dispatches were clean with plenty of time for the third train to gently stop.

Today trains weren't being stopped on the first brake run, so as far as I'm concerned, they're doing very well despite the impossible restraints.

Thank you very much guys. It is hard to make
our guests stand up, they always want to sit down in that seat. My name is Sonny so look for me next time you ride. Also, people are alowed to bring book bags in the line but they have to place them in the bins and that takes a little longer when more guests have bags. Come back this weekend and we WILL not stack any trains!!!
Oh yea and by the way....25 rides on MF
Keep in mind that the coaster crews are new. That is (in part) why Mantis, Disastor Transport, Mine Ride, and Millennium Force have all been stacking.

(Actually Mine Ride has been stacking because the touch screen doesn't work in the sun and they can't dispatch trains. ;))

Mantis Crew,
I feel sorry for you. I didn't go last year so I guess this was a probably talked about then, but I didn't know they added seatbelts. For some reason, they're harder to put on than the others like it. I think it's because you can't really see where they go in as well as you can with the other rides. Just out of curiosity, what's the worst thing that could happen if someone rode, sitting down? Is there a danger there or is it just something CP enforces?

I also work on Mantis.just the weekends. My name is debbie. Jeff the crew on Raptor is 3 of the old crew from mantis last year. And yes alot of the stacking is the new crew sending people sitting or feet dangling. Or book bags placed in front of harness. We do this all for safety. And Cp enforces it. I feel we are doing well so far this year. Our main goal is not to stack.

Hi Deb! It was nice meeting you on the 7th!
The stacking in Mantis since '96 has always seemed to be the RIDERS not listening to the speel before the ride. I have gotten used to the KILLER stop at the end of the ride. Also my 10 year old was finally tall enough to ride Raptor and Mantis this year and she adored Mantis.
People always have to find something to complain about-wonder if it will be Mantis' stacking again this year or Mean Streak still or something about MF-who knows!
c ya Deb!

Oh and one more thing-the original thread here asked when they added seat belts?? What are they talking about? I dont remember any "added" seat belts to Mantis when I rode it on the 7th??
It was the same horse harness I recall since '96.

I think they were added in '97 or '98. Think about how much easier it would be to get yourself set without having to fumble around with that belt. Many people can't reach it, and you can't see where you're supposed to be buckling it.

I think Mantis is being run much better this year. I don't notice much stacking at all, and the crew seems to really try. I even heard the board operator say "nice job on both sides of the platform" to the crew once. Nice touch, it always makes people feel good about trying hard if they get appreciated. I think Mantis is in good hands this year.
Jeff, dosen't Raptor have the same touch screen as Mine Ride?

Nice meeting you too Luv.....I love to meet people...and my aim at CP is to make the guest visit on Mantis the best...Hope to meet some more of you soon. And remember if your Sitting Please Stand and if Your Bouncing Please Stop...Your seats will be locking on my count of 3...3-2-1.
I do appreciate the belts. When I rode on the 7th, my bar popped up a bit on the drop, but locked right away. Why was this??
Sonny and Deb... hope to meet ya this summer. Keep up the good work - I know your trying eventhought I havn't visited yet...

CP the best... and if you wanna argue that I'll take you down...
I went on May 25, yesterday, and rode Mantis twice, and both times, there was stacking, but the trains seemed to be only stacked for maybe 30 seconds or so. To me it didn't seem that long. Great Job. Was you working Deb, I never seem to look at the crew, but I am going to start. *** This post was edited by Feel_The_Force on 5/27/2000. ***
