Water Main Break

What, the hotels as well? They kicking people out of the hotels?

Again, with the conflicting info....I have friends who work there and are being told to report back to work at 1pm.

Of course this kind of thing would never happen on a rainy Monday in May.

Yeah, but what if there was a fire? You can't put out a fire without water pressure.

Fair enough, but that's not a sanitary issue. :)

Food workers unable to wash their ends, however... that is a sanitary issue.

A sanitary issue is not being able to flush toilets/urinals due to no water pressure. Why are we having this debate anyways?

The white tags in the lobby told us to take our time checking out but yes, we had to leave the peninsula.

^ +1

So, the hotel guests that were up until 6am drinking their asses off (still drunk and hungover). They're forcing them to get in their cars and drive....interesting!

I don't understand how you can kick people out of the hotels. Isn't a hotel just a temporary home? You don't get kicked out of your home when a water main breaks.

Don't be an ass. There are at least 10k people trying to get off the peninsula who know better than you. I'm one of them. The park is closed.

Jeff, I was wondering when you were gonna chime in here..I needed some help..

The decision to close the rides came about 10:30 AM. (At least that is when they closed Gemini). Everyone that was in line when they closed was allowed to ride. After the ride, they had to leave, hotel guests too.

According to the CP facebook page....

"Guests who are holding tickets for Cedar Point / Soak City today may use those tickets at Kings Island in Cincinnati."

I don't think I'm ever going to get off this peninsula. I see the traffic from Light House Point and I'm not planning to go driving into that. Traffic is backed up to Maverick last I checked.

They can also be used at Wildwater Kingdom at Geauga Lake.

Kudos to CP management and all the staff who are dealing with this situation and for keeping the safety of the guests and employees in mind. Some of the comments on Facebook are making my head spin!

Apparently they decided to give rain checks now. Too soon ;) ?

On a more serious note, having no water is a serious hazard. No flushing toilets, no washing hands, no drinking water (unless you want to pay $5). Not to mention the fire hazard involved in leaving the park open. Then some rides, Dragster comes to mind even though it is broken, use water to cool the ride so it doesn't over heat and do an immense amount of damage to the ride itself.

Those of you who think its a good idea to leave the park open, let me know which part of it seems like a good idea. If you had a ticket to the park just be happy that you can use it tomorrow or any other day this summer.

Let's look on the bright side....The line for MF must be really short right now!
